This is basically a 6 hour view into the country of China. As Americans it seems that we don't know much about one of the most populous countries on the planet. This series takes you through many of the regions, including the animals, the local people, and current struggles. The segments are broken down into 6 hour long chunks and includes a short 'how this was filmed'. The discs really show off the potential of blu-ray, and immerse you into the areas. It also includes some never before seen animal footage. High recommended.

The worst film I've seen in a long time. Senseless violence, one-dimensional characters and outright racist portrayals of arabs. Robert Downey Jr. shows the emotional range of an earthworm. He wisecracks stone-faced throughout, although doesn't seem to care one way or the other what happens to him or anyone around him. The one opportunity for redemption falls flat, as there's no real change after the press conference. The romantic interest is forced and uncomfortable. You have to sit through two hours of tepid "build-up" before Iron Man actually battles a bad guy. Let's hope this is the last we see from this group.

Honestly - I feel angry I didn't know about this before. I have almost worn out my Planet Earth box set in Blu Ray. Galapagos is just as spectacular visually. It's nice to really get into a wonderful place like these islands. Planet Earth had to just touch on certain areas, but this really gets into it. It's wonderful. I highly rec it to anyone, young or old. If you liked Planet Earth, you will love this.

The BBC does an amazing job with all of their titles: Ganges, Galapagos, Wild China, etc. The photography is amazing and the storyline keeps you interested. These are also the best movies to showcase a really big screen. My daughter is in 4th grade and these titles are all compelling to her (as well as her parents). The Ganges originates in the Himalayas, so some of the movie takes place in northern India (near Tibet). It travels through the harshest deserts in the world and eventually makes its way to one of the most densly populated regions of the world. The contrasts are amazing. This movie is well worth the price.

Batman Begins scored very well earning five full stars in my book. This film can almost be guaranteed not to disappoint. It portrayed for the first time on the big screen the origins of the bat providing a good story and script, fine performances, excellent costumes, great sets well coordinated with corresponding miniatures and CGI effects. The well presented martial arts sequences between the Bat and our favorite Jedi Master were thrilling. The Blu Ray transfer from film to DVD was excellent and hours of additional features on the making of the film and its outstanding special effects are included on this reasonably priced DVD. This is on par with planet earth by BBC. Every part of this 4 disc collection is interesting, and it really opens your eyes to how amazing NASA is.

In all seriousness, even with LOWERED EXPECTATIONS (I had heard this movie wasn't very good) the fourth Indiana Jones movie completely underwhelmed me. I kept waiting for a good action scene (Shia Lebuff jousting with a Russian dominatrix on a car does not count) or an interesting plotline or some kind of payoff...NOTHING. This movie is so far removed from the classic first two films (BTW, count me among those who loved Temple of Doom with its breakneck speed, thrills, general creepiness, etc.). Now, I did not have any problem with the extraterrestrial stuff, as there was plenty of supernatural mumbo jumbo in the first three films...however, the "quest" in this movie LED TO NOTHING!!! I am personally not a fan of The Godfather Part III, I don't even regard it as part of the trilogy. This review is only for Parts I-II. These films have been restored to what Paramount claims to be "the best they'll ever look." I agree with them about 95% on this statement. Here's why: On both films (especially Part I), there are a few instances of white specks and minor print defects. Also, the colors arent 100% consistent all of the time. I agree that color problems can't be helped, it's probably due to problems with the original source. However, with films like Casablanca (from 1942) looking spotless, I can't help but think that these scratches and white specks could have been eliminated entirely. I want to start by saying i'm a HUGE pixar fan. I was there when they began and i grew up with their films, seeing every one of them in theaters and owning more than a normal amount of their merchandise. The picture quality is fairly good and the sound is the same. The explanations of the body parts is laid out in an easy to follow process. I would recommend this movie to anybody looking to add to their blu-ray collection.
