I really like this guide, there are so many little details that are unfolded in this book. I like Scott's goofy humor it's right up my alley. The layout is nice if you follow his instructions to start at the beginning and read it through, if you skip around you may lose some details. Yes, you can use it as a reference but Scott has a direction he wants you to use. I would highly recommend this if your new to Lightroom 2, it will save you time and help you gain some great understanding. Scott made e-mailing from Lr so easy with my Mac, the masking/sharpening technique was an excellent, I use it frequently with portrait work. Theses are just a couple of great things in this guide. If you're the type of person who just wants someone to tell you what steps to follow to achieve a certain effect, and who doesn't want to learn the underlying reasons for anything, this book is for you. If you are entertained by lame humor accompanying your cookie-cutter instructions, this book is also for you. If you really want to learn Photoshop thoroughly so you can handle any situation that pops up in a creative way, you'll have to turn elsewhere. Ironically, reading a lot of Scott's books, as well as books by others, especially Dan Margulis, may be the best course for you. I don't have any problem with this flash, but I do have a problem with Amazon. It said that there is a fifty dollar coupon, so I assumed (incorrectly) that my price would the 370.00 less the coupon for 320.00 Low and behold I found out 370.00 was the price after the coupon. No one is selling this darned flash for 420.00. I wish flakey practices and gimmicks like this would stop. I'm really frustrated.

Evening's guide to LR2 is an excellent piece of work. It is well written and illustrated, clearly organized, comprehensive, and accessible to a wide range of readers. It will be valuable for all levels of LR users. There are two aspects of Evening's book that I particularly like. First, he puts LR2 in a richer photographic context by including useful short discussions of topics like color management, capture and output sharpening, raw vs. jpg formats, and exposure. He goes beyond the recipe approach, enabling photographers to develop a more thorough appreciation of how to integrate LR2 into their workflows. I consider myself an advanced amateur. Over many years I've progressed to the Nikon D300 with a nice assortment of gear. I bought this book after reading Scott Kelby's "Digital Photography Book-Volume 2," great book and very useful to amateur photographers. At the end of the book, Kelby strongly recommends "your next book" should be "The Moment It Clicks." So I ordered it. It is a fine book of pictures, with descriptions of how the majority of the photos were taken. However, you need to know this guy has more gear than imaginable (it's all pictured at the end of the book), and an assistant. Probably 98% of all the photos are taken with the aid of light boxes, movie lights, what have you. I guess my point is, unless you are an advanced professional, this is a nice book of pictures.

If you are interested in Digital Photography, this is the book for you. Scott Kelby did not go into technical details for the photography tips, instead he would just tell you what f-stop or shutter speed for taking certain types of shots. Wonderful book. Highly recommended.

IF I had never read any color management books in my life and IF the schools I attended did not address "how things print to paper" then this book would be ideal. For the accomplished printer of anything having to do with "ink on paper" this book held no "extra" secrets. I had expected a guide to the Art Community's use and acceptance of inkjet printing. Alas, no such luck. I do believe "Geclee' was mentioned once, in passing but, not elaborated on. As a basic color management book this is not bad.
