I have to say I was shocked, stunned, on my first listen to this album. I had not idea that Metallica had any of their 80s sound left. I have been listening to, and a die hard follower of Metallica since 1985. After St. Anger, I did not know what to expect. After seeing the fallout of the band's recording on "Some Kind of Monster", I fully understood the raw sound of that album. Don't get me wrong, it was very heavy; and, unlike most other fans, I thoroughly enjoyed that album; but it was not the Metallica that any of us came to know and love in the 80s.

Death Magnetic, on the other hand, sounds like it could have been recorded right after ...And Justice For All! If you listen to AJFA and then Death Magnetic it is like a continuation of a theme. Metallica is back and doing what ... Read More

This is a great CD. It has a little bit of everything. Shinedown is one of those few bands that can pull anything off. If they were to sing the phone book you could still rock out to it.

It's been way too long since the last Slipknot album. This one is no disappointment, there are a few kind of slow songs that remind me of Stonesour but the heavy songs are sick. A must have.

I think all the songs on this are well done...they have melodies which a lot of other hard rock/metal doesn't. I have Indestructible and The Sickness also. Indestructible has guitar solos which i like, but i like the songs better on Ten Thousand Fists. I'm not a great music critic but I think if you like disturbed then you need to have this album.

Oh, and shame on whoever tagged this as alternative rock.

They are my favorite band... and this cd was just another example of how multi-faceted these boys are.

This is 10 Years' fourth album, technically. First two aren't that well known at all...and they changed lead singers after their first album. Anyways, I was very excited when I heard about this album. I have been a fan of 10 Years for a long time. The first time I listened through this album, I absolutely loved it and I still love it. I love the subject matter, music, and, of course, the vocals of Jesse Hasek.

The album is diverse enough sound-wise to keep me interested the entire time through. In my eyes, there is only one weak track on the album and that's "Picture Perfect." Other than that, the album is solid. As much as I love this album, however, I think "The Autumn Effect" is much, much better overall.

The main problem with this album is that the song structure is very *yawn*. ... Read More

'Saints of Los Angeles' is definitely Motley Crue's strongest effort to date (next to the self-titled album) but also encompasses some of the spirit of the old & perhaps the Crue most fans want via 'Dr. Feelgood'/'Girls Girls Girls.' Truly a great balance of bringing the old Crue with a new & heavy direction, not to mention the production is the best of any Motley album & the band has never sounded tighter. Cheers boys!

I own all Staind albums, and all I can say is what a fresh breath of air compared to their previous album, Chapter V. Not to rub any body the wrong way, but I only liked one-third of Chapter V and was quite disappointed expecting a superb CD like their previous albums.

They're starting to change their sound for the better as well. It's more calm but still hard at the same time. If you like their previous songs "It's Been A While," "Epiphany" "Outside," "Home," "Zoe Jane," etc. definitely pick this album up!

(PS: Aaron Lewis, release an acoustic CD please! )

Dream Theater, early Metallica, Opeth, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath... yeah, they all suck. Listen to this album if you want to be amazed by true musicianship! WHY would you give this less than 5 stars? Oh yeah, you're jealous of their talent.
