There are several absolutely gorgeous tracks on this album, including my favourite "Sunset". There are some less good too, but worth buying in my opinion,

I have been a fan of Asia since the early 80's and have just purchased their new CD Phoenix. I can tell everyone this and it is great to listen to real muscians, not the de sensitised so called music of todays generation of mindless rap crap and its off shoots. I am not saying there is not great muscians today but I don't feel they get to bring forth there talents as muscians of the 70 & 80's.

This new CD from Asia has the sound and sophistacation from these true muscians. This collection purely broght back memories of an age gone past, this age could do much good in its re surgence.

Sit back and indulge yourself in this age less collection. I hope there will be further colaberations from these talented muscians

I originally(many years ago) bought this on tape,I must have let someone "borrow" it and it was never returned, and so this CD was like visiting an old friend who I had not seen for years. It is still very good and really worth listening to(unlike some of his later rubbish)

I will never buy another Coldplay album without hearing it first. This is the best example of a "DBB" (download it before buying it) album. I can understand how a band should evolve and not repeat themselves. From The Beatles to Depeche Mode we have seen bands changing their style album after album but STILL each album is great. Tough I didn't expect another A Rush of Blood album I sure expected great melodies or complex arrangements. None of this is found here. Sure, "VIVA LA VIDA" is one of the greatest songs of this years and one of Coldplay's best, but do we have to go all through an album of dull "songs" just to have one or at the most 2 great songs?? I can't believe this is the same Brian Eno that produced such gems with Bowie and Talking Heads. I guess a producer can't do much when the artist lacks completes ... Read More

He does it again! I've been listening to Oystein Ramfjord's music for 4 years now. If I could sum it up in one word it would be "paradise". If you are new to this style of ambient, new age, electronic music I recommend "Isabliss" first. It doesn't have any chanting monks or foreign vocals which took awhile to grow on me with my first Amethystium cd "Aphelion". His music has to be the most beautiful in the universe. Oystein deserves the Nobel Peace Prize! My favorite tracks are A small Adventure, Treasure, Anthemoessa, Strangely Beautiful, Frosty Morning Bliss, and Silken Twine. This review is coming from somone who wants to start a progressive, neoclassical, melodic deathcore, jazz fusion, electronica band! Buy "Isabliss" today along with "Odonata", "Aphelion", and "Evermind", you will not regret it!

Mike Oldfield's third studio recording marks the end of the most creative phase of his career. "Tubular Bells" explored an aggressive and improvised world of chaos and turmoil. "Hergest Ridge" presented listeners with the genteel and serene flip side of that world. "Ommadawn" is a step outward into a much larger and all encompassing world. It combines both the energy and serenity of his first two albums, but importantly expresses itself through shifting ethnic backdrops. Oldfield is for the first time acknowledging and utilising a `world music' ethic, with Celtic influences sitting comfortably with African influences.

Many critics have seen the explosive finale to Side One as representing some form of cathartic rebirth for Oldfield, and certainly post "Ommadawn" he would enter into controversial therapies ... Read More

Sarah Brightman's 'Symphony' is yet another example of how the acclaimed 'Angel of Music' takes classical music genres and brings life to them.

True to its title, 'Symphony' takes on a more gothic symphonic rock style from Ms. Brightman's previous albums, while sticking to her traditional crossover formula. The best example of this is in 'Fleurs du Mal' (Flowers of Evil), which opens with a strong beat and some amazing high notes. A reprise of this song appears at the end of the album as a hidden track. 'Fleurs du Mal' is probably the best song on the album because it literally grabs listeners' attention from the first second.

Some of the songs have a more melancholic mood, like 'I Will Be with You' (with Paul Stanley), which was the theme for a 2007 Pokemon movie, but there's no denying that such songs are enjoyable. ... Read More

10.Seven Lives Many Faces (2 CDs) by: Enigma
September 30, 2008
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
: Seven Lives Many Faces (2 CDs)
Five songs into Seven Lives Many Faces, I was convinced that I would never buy another Enigma CD again. The CD started with the obligatory horns and breathy, spoken-word vocals followed by two of the most mediocre Enigma songs I had ever heard. Track number 4, "The Same Parents" was interesting, but a little too cliche in its message. As I listened, the death of Enigma was nearly sealed with "Fata Morgana", an absolutely forgettable composition.

But as "Fata Morgana" transitioned into track 6, "Hell's Heaven" my ears took notice. "Hell's Heaven" opens with a heartbreaking chord progression that gives way to a sinister bass beat and then into rising string stabs. The truth is that Enigma has never done anything this interesting or experimental on any of the previous six albums. Another reviewer here has derrided one of the sound ... Read More
