I have every one of their CD's because I really like this group. However this CD didn't do anything for me.

I will never buy another Coldplay album without hearing it first. This is the best example of a "DBB" (download it before buying it) album. I can understand how a band should evolve and not repeat themselves. From The Beatles to Depeche Mode we have seen bands changing their style album after album but STILL each album is great. Tough I didn't expect another A Rush of Blood album I sure expected great melodies or complex arrangements. None of this is found here. Sure, "VIVA LA VIDA" is one of the greatest songs of this years and one of Coldplay's best, but do we have to go all through an album of dull "songs" just to have one or at the most 2 great songs?? I bought this album, thinking that i do like raconteurs, but i thought that their first album had a few dud songs on it. This one really hits the spot after (for me) a year of searching for an album i can just put on and listen to the whole thing with out being tempted to fast forward through a song or two or three. I really like the first and last songs, and songs 7 & 8. These are four songs that could anchor an album on their own. Overall, my best purchase (of music) of the year.

I will keep it simple, short and sweet. These tunes totally took me back to when I first heard the yellow album. This one just has that feel like it's 1979.

You should get Death Cab's Narrow Stairs for the first four songs alone. Each is a model of perfection. Even though 'I Will Possess Your Heart' clocks in at over 7 minutes, you never get bored. This is a must have. [DW]

Listening to this new CD takes me back to the "rocker" days of my youth. I loved it and often put it in a 6 CD rotation with Delbert, Willie and Ray Charles!!!

Kind of like wildflowers, but with a 70's sound. YEP!! 70's sound. I really think though, tom petty should stick to the HEART-BREAKERS and a new CD. AS WELL AS A GR. HITS #2. We need more albums with those GUYS. There getting old, don't waste there time , not makeing new albums. ALSO : To TOM PETTY.....Make a remake of the song " BROWN EYED GIRL ( Van-morrison ) ".............And put it on your next album...THAT SONG FITS YOUR STYLE and it would sound awsome with your voise.....REALLY.

A lot of hubub over this album. Bodysnatchers is absolutely rockin', Jigsaw Falling Into Place is great, and the rest of the album seems to be music I can fall asleep too. Radiohead goes way too close to being Coldplay snoozer music with a few progressive sounds and occasional addition of drums. The Bends and OK Computer continue to be the best albums, but this one ain't bad...it just ain't that exciting either.

2 1/2 Last Night feels more like a controlled effort to convince fans he has returned to his dancefloor roots rather then a genuine album that makes you want to move like his old classics Play and Everything is Wrong provided, instead at best mimicking the old prototype with tracks such as "Everyday It's 1989" interspersed with half-cooked attempts to update a stale palate.

I am really worried Madonna is going to have an on stage incontinence accident really soon....and those undies look HUGE! Sad music by a person who should spend less time doing onstage impersonations of a 1980's 20yr old and more time trying to save her marriage, and Africa.
