If you have Solo Accoustic Vol 1 than you will enjoy Vol. 2. However if you dont own Vol. 1, I would suggest you buy it as it has more of the well known hits. Jackson Browne has great songs but this album is more of lesser known material. If you like accoustic music in general than you will really like this album.

Accelerate can be one of those albums which fans, upset with R.E.M.'s last few releases, may judge too highly, throwing out words like comeback just to describe a vague adult-rock, easy going consistency in a way which almost insults some of their finer intricacies.

If you don't know Emmylou Harris at all, buy anything she's ever done. The worst that you'll get is really good. This album is lovely, if low-key and sad. There is a strain of American music - the only authentic strain aside from Afro-American - embodied in country, folk and some rock based on the former two that is heart-piercing, but absolutely lovely. And Emmylou Harris - who defies labels - does it best of all (though her version of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" - elsewhere - rocks with a kind of tough cynicism that the Broadway showtune never had.) I've seen her up close in a small concert and she is the very epitome of grace, modesty and beauty. I've been playing this disk for months in my waiting room, and client after client has been struck and asked me about it and her (and Juanes too, but that's another story.)

Kind of like wildflowers, but with a 70's sound. YEP!! 70's sound. I really think though, tom petty should stick to the HEART-BREAKERS and a new CD. AS WELL AS A GR. HITS #2. We need more albums with those GUYS. There getting old, don't waste there time , not makeing new albums. ALSO : To TOM PETTY.....Make a remake of the song " BROWN EYED GIRL ( Van-morrison ) ".............And put it on your next album...THAT SONG FITS YOUR STYLE and it would sound awsome with your voise.....REALLY.

...that anyone should consider this a classic album. The man himself has been hit and miss his whole career. Studio albums, live gigs, you can never be sure which Van Morrison is going to show. So, too, his live albums. 1994's "A Nght in San Francisco" is one of the truly great live albums, the band, the Man, the guests, the music firing on all cylinders. But "Too Late" is the Van only the blindly loyal would be happy to spend money on: mediocre band fronted by a guy who's just going through the motions, almost DARING his audience to enjoy some of the great songs -- "Into the Mystic," "I Believe to My Soul" -- he butchers.

It is absurd to hear 60-year-old men performing "Some Girls" and "Little T&A." Their first round of kids almost are as old as they were when they wrote these songs. They know what they're doing, that's fo sho, but very little about this is truly intimate or remotely creative. I'd love to hear this lot pick up a bunch of R&B songs they'd barely played and have a go, but everything is geared to making the maximum buck so the spontaneity and creativity are histor-y. There is no comparison to "Ya Ya's," and even "Still Life" is better because at least they mattered back then and were still pushing the culture at least a little. As for "Ya Ya's," they were the culture then, the very tip of it, the best band on the orb. They may be the best band for their age right now, maybe. The whole Scorcese thing, clearly intended in part to give this some actual ... Read More

I remember back in the early 80's going through the (Cut-out)section of (albums)at my local music store,if any of you are old enough to remember those.I came upon and purchased the LP Slug Line.It was my first John Hiatt record.I now have some 14 of his albums and each one is better than the other. His musical skills and experimentation continue to awe me and his writting just blows me away. The lines he comes up with are just so real and true,I ecspecially like the one about "a few less brain cells and a lot less hair".
John Hiatt is like a fine wine,he just gets better with age.

Dirt Farmer is the best album I have heard in years! If you like country, folk, gospel and the blues, you will love this album. From the first time I heard it, I liked it, but now I adore it. From beginning to end, this is a masterpiece. In my mind, the songs that stand out are as follows: False Hearted Lover Blues, The Mountain, Little Birds, Calvary, Got Me A Woman, Single Girl, Married Girl and Wide River To Cross. This album has great songs, superb musicianship and gorgeous harmonies. What else could you ask for? This country rocks!
