Why do I do this to myself? Why do I begin reading at 1 am when I've got to wake up at 8? Needless to say, waking up was easy when I never made it to sleep. This story pulled me right in. Worth the time, it was a quick read as well. I would have finished it faster but I enjoyed some pages so much I re-read them a couple of times. Thank you Mr. Coelho for this lovely book. I truly appreciated it.

This is a great book with everything you want. I've read some of the reviewers saying he writes too simple and therefor it is not a good book. But the simplicity is the strength of Coelho's writing. Makeing something like prostitution possible to grasp and comprahend and without laying out pages and pages of how horrible the situation is (with this I don't mean prostitution isn't a terrible thing - it truly is, just that it is nice to finally see a prostitute not as a helpless victim but just a womam trying to survive even though many in reality might be victims]. Read this book, you will not regret it.

I thought this was going to be like Coelho's other books but it's not. Instead it's something like a book of proverbs. Very much worth it's wieght...

My favorite book from Coelho. Read it through almost with one go and will definitely reread it soon. It's so crazy how many people have confined their inner craziness.

I would very much like to offer a complete review of this title. However, despite it being listed as in Large Print....I can not read it which upsets me to no end. Large Print books need to be in Large Bold Print so vision impaired folks can at least have a decent crack at reading like a normal person. I really wanted to read this book as it is quite inviting....but it will be a very slow process. Good luck if you have any kind of serious vision problem

This book does not necessarily contain any "answers", apart from the author's own personal revelations. What it DID do, for me, was to plant a seed. While I didn't agree with all of the religious content, I did appreciate the undertaking of a spiritual journey. This book opened my eyes to the incredible value of the self-discovery that comes from making such a trek. Two years after my first reading, I followed in the footsteps of Paulo Coelho and so many millions of other pilgrims, and made the same journey myself! This is not a book about the Camino de Santiago, as much as it is a story about the power and importance of self-discovery. And while I wouldn't consider it a very useful guidebook for the Road to Santiago, I certainly have found it to be a great source of inspiration on the Road of Life. ... Read More

The writing of Paulo Coehelo inspires one to introspection. Although `The Fifth Mountain' could be digested quickly, I recommend a slower reading. The publisher obliges by cleverly placing bullets throughout the text, allowing one to pause at appropriate moments for reflection. Despite the trials and tribulations, we must struggle onward to achieve our life's destiny.

This was a very inspiring book for me in very contemplative times in my life. I was able to stay very focused in a time that it was imperative to me. I love all of this particular authors books always read them in trying times.

I stumbled on Paulo Coelho purely by accident. Overcast day in a used bookstore, and I find Veronika Decides to Die. After that I was captivated by Coelho's writing style and wonderful sense of finding one's spiritual way. The Devil and Miss Prym wasn't anything like I expected, but none of his stories are. The characters are wonderfully created in loving detail, the storyline has so many ways it could turn so that the reader is left really wondering what will happen next, trusting that Coelho will lead us to a place where the injustices of humanity begin to make sense again.
