I bought this printer in October 2008 and have been using it for a month now. I am very pleased with it and I am happier each day. It is easy to use and is as fast as advertised (maybe even faster). After installation I moved it to a corner near a power plug (because the wireless mode needs no other connection) and it faithfully and quickly prints slews of reports. The setup directions are very clear but you have to follow the directions in the manual precisely. I did have to download new print drivers for Windows Vista and Mac OS 10.5 but other than that I didn't have any issues. Yesterday I decided to try to print on envelopes. Has all the good features mentioned by other reviewers. However, clearing a paper jam and changing the toner can be very frustrating. You have to remove the toner cartridge and drum to get at a paper jam, and these components do not come out easily. They don't simply slide out as shown in the diagram. I've had to jiggle them for half an hour before I could get them out. For this reason alone I would not recommend this printer.

I needed a longer cable cord for my printer because of where it was located. The 10 feet Belkin USB cable cord was a perfect solution. And I purchased it for a very low price at Amazon.

Advertising pictured a new branded Brother cartridge and the Brother box it comes in. Fine print noted not a Brother brand & recycled. Very misleading. Will never do business with them again. Caveat emptor

yeah, they should really more clear. I bought this thing thinking woo, it can print up to 12000 pages, and that it's a 'drum' type of ink cartridge. When I opened it up, I realized oh wait. This is just the 'container' of sorts for the actual 'toner' cartridge which is required. So essentially brother, has made it so you have to replace two items. Toner when it goes out, and this drum unit, which will go out every time you print up to 12000 pages from the toner. ahh... great description guys. Now I have to return my drum unit, and buy real toner.

This printer cord is a regular USB 2 printer cable. It works just you'd expect from a similar product anywhere. What makes it so outstanding is the price. Even with shipping it was less than half the cost of the exact same cable in the stores. Half! I am very pleased with it and other purchases I have made through Amazon. I always check Amazon first.
