At first I thought the 6480 was great.....until it started having problems. Clearing the fax logs was finally accomplished, but in the process, the ink levels were not longer available by any method.....i suspect as a result of an unnecessary firmware upgrade they had me do. More than 60 emails, a dozen phone calls and several weeks later I am still waiting for customer service to send me the replacement machine that they promised. I supplied call times & days as they requested, but so far they have only called when I am sleeping or away from the phone, but never at the time/s stated on their info requests. Paper feed problems also visit often, but mainly support is dreadful and unacceptable I will never buy another HP anything.

Overall these are good products. I am using them in my HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer. The prices listed on Amazon are not too bad. I've seen the cartridges for as low as $13.00, but $15.00 seems more of the average. However, if your printer can handle them, I'd suggest purchasing the HP 74XL Black Inkjet Print Cartridge which contains roughly three times the ink for roughly twice the cost of these cartridges. The ink capacity for these cartridges is estimated by HP as approx 5 ml of ink versus 18 ml for the XL version. remember to check compatibility first!!

I confess I missed the cardboard box. I believe there is an envelope on it to send the used cartridge to HP. Other than that, it's exactly the cartridge asked.

I read the reviews on different printers for quite a few months now and decided to break down and buy the HP Photosmart 4480. I was worried that the photo prints would not be good but I was wrong. The first picture I printed was like getting a professional print. I then found I could not get the same quality of prints there after. The pictures were "pixelly" and not good quality. I messed with the settings and came up with the perfect combination that I was getting professional quality prints again. I must have printed more than 20 photos and have not even used half the color ink and hardly any black ink. I bought extra ink in case the printer used a lot of ink during photo printing and it's still in the box and I am still a printing fool. I needed a longer cable cord for my printer because of where it was located. The 10 feet Belkin USB cable cord was a perfect solution. And I purchased it for a very low price at Amazon.

Don't waste your money. This thing worked fine for 2 months on Windows XP and then started acting up after a security update blocked the annoying web information designed to sell you more products. Tech support was no help at all and I've wasted four days, 8 restarts, and 3 reinstalls. HP clearly wrote software beneficial only to them to sell more products. There is no way to set it function without the bloatware. I'm currently searching for a new printer as I've wasted too much time and money, including new ink cartridges.

didn't get the cardboard, but looks like original. Large version saves a few bucks compared to the tiny one.

I can't beleive some of the bad reviews. The CD/DVD printing alone is worth the price. In addition, you get scanning, lab quality printing without a PC, copying function & relatively cheap ink replacement cartridges. It wasn't that long ago you didn't get all of these features without throwing down a few hundred dollars. I paid $65 on clearance. Superb printer for the money!

When I first tried to scan something on this "all-in-one", it didn't work. I called HP and after a long time on the phone they told me that I needed a special driver to get the scanner to work (even though the printer was working fine). That was when I was trying to scan a photo. Now I'm trying to scan an 8 x 10 sheet of paper for the first time. On whatever default setting is at work here, the scanner only scans a small section of the paper. I've been looking for a way to change this setting for half an hour. I'm sure there's some setting or button that will cause this scanner to scan and 8 x 10 piece of paper, and if using my printer was my full time job I'd be happy to look for it some more. But getting this all in one to do it's primary tasks just doesn't seem worth the time it takes.
