I ordered this camera from Amazon and it came in no time flat which was great. Unfortunately the camera is going back in less than 1 hour of ownership. I took the camera out of the box and loaded it with an 8 GB SD Card and tried out the video recording capability. Now this camera can record at 720P and it records in Quicktime MOV. I have a Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook and the video was completely out of sync, grainy and washed out. I wonder if mine was defective because the video was NOTHING like I had seen on the online sharing sites.

Don't know if the charger is bad or the battery I bought with it, but does not work with my camera and it states for a 712 IS.

I purchased the Z812IS to upgraded from my 1974 Minolta SRT201 35mm SLR camera (stop the laughing). I got tired of waiting to see if my pictures were any good after developing. I've only used it a handful of times, mainly for photographing race cars. I like the very short shutter delay. (I think it's 0.23 sec.)The camera also takes exceptional pictures at a distance. For cars in motion, it's easy to pan along with them to get that speed effect, using a shutter speed of less than 1/320,and the screen & view finder do not go blank when taking pictures at a slower shutter speed. I found this camera on sale at Target (in store, Oct. 2008) for $99 and decided to take a chance. At that price, it can't hurt! And it has been performing like a champ. The video is great, I'm getting lots of great photos -- all without knowing too much about cameras. I'm a point-and-shoot photographer and this camera has definitely improved my game while not requiring me to make a true study of photography. My only 'negative' comments are things that don't bother me, but might bother others: there is a noise associated with the zoom, even when using the "museum" setting, so factor that in if you're trying to be discreet. Well i bought this SDHC 16GB card few weeks ago for my Asus 901XP PC, i only used it with that computer and with the USB adapter on few other PCs, and so far it works very good. Since i don't have a camera that supports this card i can't say much about it, but this card seems to be fast and recognized (with the usb adapter) on few other PCs with no problem (even old ones) with no need of any driver installation (windows XP). I use this card to safe photons and documents of my PC.

Poor design... pins that contact batter very fragile and broke off after 6 months of use. Strange design with base, adapter and long cord that should just be one unit. Very bulky for travel. Don't waste your money on this product. I replaced it with a Power 2000 RTC-148 Charger for Kodak KLIC-8000. The Power 2000 is well designed and less than 10 bucks! Sturdy contact pins and folding plug on back, came with euro adapter and car adapter. Much better product overall and great for travel!
