If you are setting up an LLC there is alot missing in this book that you will need. For example in the payroll section there is no real informaton on how to deal with members and their salaries and how that should be tracked. This is a very common situation that newbie business owners will have to deal with and I figured a "Dummies" book would have had a step by step instructions on how to do just that. Also the book was real chatty. The author spending lots and lots of paragraphs talking to you like you were his buddy over a beer. Most of those paragraphs were wasted ink and paper.

Soundtrack is warped and is very annoying...I would have sent it back but I needed the information as I am now responsible for doing the books for our company.

This is a must have manual. I wish I had this 4 years ago while I was setting up my books.

I have found this book to be very helpful. It will be on my desk for quite some time and an easy reference after that.

Works great, we really liked it. Pretty easy to use, just have everything organized prior to starting. Some people complain that you have to buy a new version every year, but compared to the cost of paying our accountant every year we will happily pay for this.

I finaly got the company I work for to upgrade from 2005. The new features are great. There are some things I would like to have a short cut to but can't. It is over all a great program.

I too was forced to upgrade to 2008 from quicken 2005 because they were discontinuing support of bank updates, etc. After 13 years with the software, I have never had a problem with an upgrade until now. There are bugs in the software that have caused my accounts from 2006 to be unreconciled (they were fine before the upgrade). Quicken ignored my first two contacts with support (I have them two months to respond each time). I finally sat for 90 minutes with a "chat consultant" who did not understand how Quicken worked. I am not sure what I can do now, they won't support their own product and I have to find something else and hope I can get all the data transferred. I would not recommend investing in Quicken if you are just starting, maybe Microsoft Money ... Read More

what kind of a company rewards loyal users by putting up a roadblock to productivity? this is the worst software 'upgrade' i have ever seen, and I've been using software for the past 20 years. yes, there are additional useful features. yes, there are fixes to previous limitations. but no, they did not have to be implemented with a completely new UI. The office ribbon is like GM taking the steering wheel and putting it on the other side of the car, and calling that a better car, though indeed, the new car has a better engine. WTF? why would anyone approve this without at least having an option, add-in, or whatever work around to go back to the classic menus? unfortunately this is a business school case worthy example of how not to treat your customers.
