I'm particularly pleased with Microsoft Office 2008, because it enables me to download the Attachments I receive without any of the problems I had previously. It was a good investment for a 91-year-old woman who likes to keep in touch with family and friends.

Thank goodness someone still had this item. I bought it because I do not like Vista. My computer crashed and lost everything. Had to start over. This was very easy to install and works like a charm. No problems at all. I would do it all over again in a minute if I had to.

Like Tiger before it, Leopard is worth every penny. Time machine works seamlessly (if you don't make the same mistake I did and use a LaCie drive for backup - it will fail sooner rather than later). Most new features are excellent. Unfortunately, the new X11 that ships with Leopard is badly messed up (at least when I installed it a while ago). Luckily, you can download the latest build from http://xquartz.macosforge.org is you need to use X11 professionally. Overall, Leopard is great and worth the upgrade!

I can't speak about the other programs, but "Pages" is a joke. It is a program for amateurs, not professionals. One example of its shortcomings is the following: if you want to cut or copy a body of text, and you have your heart set on the pasted text having the same font /font size / style, you have to pull down a special command called "Paste and match style." This is comical. Why didn't they make the cutting and pasting work properly in the first place? That's like saying "Here is your new dishwasher. It cleans beautifully, But if you want to turn it on, you'll have to push a special button in the back." Not to mention that if there is an underlined word in the text you cut or copied, the underlining won't come out in the pasted text. Apple has put professional writers in a bind. The Imac ... This program is very intuitive and will not take that long to get use to. It has many features which are very handy especially in the area of document creation and inserting images and especially in the ease of formatting each document. It seems like it takes 3 less steps to achieve things with iWorks than it does with Office. However, Pages is the one program that I think is better than Word, Numbers and Keynote have great integration with pages, but still are not as good as Excel or Powerpoint.

This is my first time using a Mac,and I don't think I'll ever switch back to PCs again. I am only pissed that the price on Amazon is $200 cheaper. Perhaps price has come down in the past six months?
