Purchased the battery from TechGlobal, monitored the arrival date on Amazon and waited 14days and had not shipped. Emailed seller twice with no response, and suddenly the battery showed up from a private residence in a small bubble envelope with no packaging, shipping invoice or guarantee. Contacted Amazon and was told to return the battery for refund at my expense to the seller. The battery looked like it had been used when it should have been new. Sony and Sony accessories are top quality products, but beware of some of sellers on Amazon.

I am using this camera, and it is nice. However, my biggest gripe is that it is not Mac compatible. Many creative types use a Mac, which comes with very nice movie software. I have both Macs and PCs, but would have preferred to use my Mac. Because it wasn't compatible, I purchased Sony's Vegas, but would have been much happier using iMovie.

As expected from the innumerable examples of Bill Myers' YouTube Video Tips, DVD previews, etc, this is an excellent tutorial video for users of Sony Vegas MovieStudio. He explains everything in a clear, concise, and practical manner. It is not just a chapter by chapter replacement for a manual or textbook. Instead, it is a wide ranging "how to" video, showing how to do certain tasks or achieve specific aims. Much of its value is derived from the fact that Bill Myers is sharing his personal experience, giving hints and tips, and pointing out pitfalls. It clearly requires watching repeatedly, but owning this dvd must inevitably result in better and more professionally looking videos. This product works as intended and does it flawlessly. It has a simple purpose and that is to charge your mini-dv batteries in a wall outlet. This is a much easier way to charge camera batteries and provides the extra convenience and benefit of ebing able to charge up an additional battery while filming with your other battery (assuming you have two, of course).

One thing about camcorders is that you need them to be ready when the need arises. This battery has so much power that unless you are shooting Gone With The Wind, it should last for days. When this battery is freshly charged, my Sony CX12 shows 480 minutes of record time on the screen. Wow, that's a lot of time. With the regular battery you really have to carry two in case you end up shooting more than a couple of hours. With this battery you don't even need to think about having enough power. On the down side, it does protrude a bit from the back of the camera, but it's worth it.

The cable didn't work for me and I let a friend who had a working one check it on his system and it did not work for hiom either. I haven't found my receipt yet to try to send it back.

Well i bought this SDHC 16GB card few weeks ago for my Asus 901XP PC, i only used it with that computer and with the USB adapter on few other PCs, and so far it works very good. Since i don't have a camera that supports this card i can't say much about it, but this card seems to be fast and recognized (with the usb adapter) on few other PCs with no problem (even old ones) with no need of any driver installation (windows XP). I use this card to safe photons and documents of my PC.

As a Sony Mini-DV owner, I chose to purchase the Sony branded tapes. While I am not typically a brand-sensitive person, I have read some reviews that state that you should stick with the same brands when it comes to magentic media such as tape. In addition, you probably should not switch from one brand to another after significant use because of the lubricants that the differnet manufacturers use. That said, I am interested in trying Sony's HD Mini-DV tapes, even though my camer is not an HD model. Since both tapes are Sony, I thjink the switch would be ok. Overall these tapes are pretty much standard qulaity tapes, like another reviwer mentioned. They are reliable. If you are looking to buy a Sony Mini-DV, these are the tapes for you.
