One of the most informative texts I have ever read on the subjects of exercise, health and diet for those of us who are over 40. Very succinct and credible. Have your hi-liter handy when reading this book.

I bought this for my 73 year old father. He really enjoyed it and it has helped him make some needed dietary and exercise changes in his life. I have recommended this to other friends and family. It is clearly written with a striaght-forward style. It is great for someone who hasn't had a lot of nutrition and exercise guidance over the years. My father understand mechanics, and the descripotions of the heart's function was perfect for him. I highly recommend this for the men in your life. I purcashed 3 books and the CD as gifts.

Does excellent job of reporting heart rate. Includes watch and alarm for maximum and minimum rates. Simplicity plus makes it good for me

True, this product is easy to use and looks nice. But its missing one functionality that is important for these types of products: Accuracy. Myotape adds another 2 inches to anything that you measure because somehow the manufacturers screwed up with the length of the tape and it starts at the 2 inch mark. However minor or major of a flaw you perceive this as (for me it seems major), it is very embarrassing.

The scales seem extremely accurate and very easy to use. The body fat monitor is way, way off. It's at least 9% higher than my handheld unit. I'm in the high-normal range on the handheld but "very high" range on the scales. I'm very active and generally very fit so I'm going with the handheld calculator.

The Omron HBF is a one trick wonder. It's a glorified calculator, and if you know the math, you can do the equation yourself. It would make you believe that you must grip the handles while it checks the BMI of your body, but you could put in any sex/age/height/build/and weight, and it will pop out with the number from the equation, and nothing based on you. If you can't find the equation, or don't want to do it, it's an investment, otherwise, use a regular calculator and save your money.

I love all the features of this heart rate monitor and watch, except for one and that would be the way it takes your heart rate. It does not take a reading if your skin is wet. I bought it for my spinning class and I can't get a reading. I have to dry my wrist and put the watch back on to get a reading.

i really like it, its nice to know if you are losing (or gaining) body fat or lean body mass and this product allows you to do that not only privately, but also frequently.

This is a great, cheap, and effective HRM watch. I read the reviews before i bought it and it has exactly what i needed and more! All the functions you would want with a watch; Time and date, dual time zones, alarm clock, while flawlessly performing as a HRM as well. The strap fits comfortably on your chest, watch has option for a LOUD alarm if you're falling out of your HR zone, you can put your personal settings in for maximum accuracy (i.e. Height, weight, HR zones). I've had this for a month now and it's working great! I also love how it tells you your recovery rate after your workout and how comfortable the watch is compared to other plastic watches i've had like it. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs a training aid for running or exercising!
