This works great with our new tape recorder. Does exactly what it should do. No complaints. Price seemed about right. Cord is a good length and the clip-on makes it easy to hold if you don't actually clip it on.

It doesn't actually cancel out much noise but it is decent on pick up. With a little sound editing you can cut out the background noise and make it work.

my sister uses her olympus audio recorder at school for recording lectures. i bought this for her so she could record the teacher even from far away. the audio quality of her recordings is better with it! now she thanks me for buying this for her.

This is a very functional tool for detecting electromagnetic interference. I tested it by placing it near an electrical closet in my building. I was always suspicious about spending too much time in the area of the closet. The needle went off the scale! Speaking of the scale, I would like to know what the 0-5 milligauss scale represents. I know there are digital EMF detectors that have a scale from 0-100+. I wish the bottom of the device were flat so that it could stand up vertically on its own. The sensor seems to be on the back of the device, seemingly necessitating hand-held operation in a vertical postion. Laying it flat on a table doesn't seem to work as well. I've purchased many Kingston flash drives, and I've only ever had one DOA (though they issued an RMA promptly - good service). It was a 2GB, and I worried about the quality of their higher-capacity drives after that. However, the price on this 8GB was good, so I took the plunge and bought two. I have not been disappointed with either one! In fact, the write speed is about twice what I usually see on my 1GB versions of this drive! Highly recommended, especially to those who don't want to bother with U3 or need ReadyBoost. This drive is a solid performer.

This is a handy device that works well for the price. I find it is great for checking temperature of wine in the glass, quick ear-temp checks (which run lower than oral), and checking pan temps. It was also interesting to learn just how hots our bulbs burn (including compact fluorescent). It is small enough to fit in a pocket and has a handy auto-off feature. It does have some limitations. Because of the conical surface area measurement, the size of the area being measured must be smaller than your distance from it. The max temp of around 450F sometimes limits its utility for cooking.

This unit replaced an Energizer 15 minute charger that was killing batteries left a right. While this really isn't a 'quick' charger I have noticed far better battery life since using it. Using the calibration function I have even been able to resurrect some of the old batteries that I thought the Energizer had destroyed. From now on I am only buying Sony.
