I admit that I have a sweet tooth and that I consider myself a brownie afficionado. Over the years I've collected dozens of recipes and I have my favorites. So I approached Liz Franklin's "Brownies and Bars" with some skepticism. I first tried three of the brownie recipes - "Cherry, Chocolate and Kahl?a Brownies," "Cardamom and Orange Brownies," and the "Orange Marmalade and Chestnut Brownies," and they turned out perfect! Then I turned my attention to the non-brownie recipes: they are creative and diverse-- and the two others that I tried were just as good as the brownie recipes. Their directions were easy to follow; the photography was helpful and beautiful. Can't wait to try more recipes.

This book is jam-packed with helpful brownie-making tips as well as 50 variations of brownies and blondies! Being a lover of anything chocolate, I set out to try the recipe entitled "Sensationally Chewy Brownies" (pg.34), wondering if I'd really get chewy ones. I was happily surprised! The recipe was very easy to follow, quick to make, and incredibly addictive! I give this 'short but sweet' cookbook a two thumbs up and recommend it to everyone! Hint: This would make a great gift to a fellow chocoholic!

After a year long search, I finally discovered my muffin top pans at AMAZON.com Finally, I was able to get one for my 2 married girls. Love the price and the end product is great. Baking is fun.

Chocolate. what is better than that? Oh yea, brownies! Excellent cookbook with tons of variety!

I followed the advice of the other commenters and used my giant cupcake pan tonight for the first time. Sprayed pan with PAM for baking, measured 4 cups of batter for each side - cooked the bottom for 10 min and then added the batter for the top and baked for another 37min. It baked very nicely and I trimmed the top of the bottom and the bottom of the top and used frosting to put the 2 pieces together. For a non-baker I felt this was easy to use and curious how my co-workers will like it (I baked it for baby shower at work). I used 2 boxes of cake mix and it made one giant cupcake and 12 regular sized cupcakes. Oh to make it lower fat I substituted oil with unsweetened apple sauce.

This thing is amazing. We haven't found anything that even tries to stick to it. This pad has literally paid for itself by saving us from having to buy parchment paper as frequently. One concern I had at first before buying the pad was that the bottoms of baked items like cookies wouldn't be as crispy as before but those fears were unfounded. Heat conducts pretty well through the pad and the bottoms of cookies, biscuits, etc. are the same as they'd have been with a regular oiled metal pan.

I have never bought a brownie mix cookbook before, and I never will have to again. The recipes in this book are absolutely delicious. There are a vast number of recipes to choose from. I sometimes can't make up my mind which to make so I will make two recipes at a time and share them with my neighbors. This book is a MUST for brownie lovers.

I was always looking for a toothpick long enough for my cakes. I could buy martini toothpicks but then I would have to store them and they are a one use item (not green at all). I keep this with the baking supplies and it is always there. For the price, I am glad I did it.

This is a really great book for cupcake ideas!. I made the pumpkin ones. It can be hard however to find the ingredients or supplies needed. I still can't wait for an occasion to make another.
