This is a great DVD from the greatest and best band in the world. As the title states, this DVD includes every single Tenacious D publication that I can think of other than their latest movie, "The Pick of Destiny." It includes older material you may have seen, and much more material that you probably haven't. All of their music videos, HBO episodes, HBO short films, TV appearances, and even a full length concert at the Brixton Academy. Comes with 2 discs, one labeled "for fans", and one labeled "for psycho fans." Both are great discs - as long as you can stomach the D's humour!

Sacha Baron Cohen stars as Borat, a journalist from Kazakhstan who has come to America to make a documentary. While in New York, he sees "Baywatch" on TV and vows to go to California and marry Pamela Anderson. Off he goes across the country, meeting (and insulting) various groups along the way, including Jews, Christians, animal lovers, rodeo fans, fine diners, a doctor, and just about anyone else you can imagine. The vignettes were shot with real people, a la Candid Camera, who react to the outrageous words and actions of the guileless and amazingly coarse Borat.

I'd heard that this movie was outrageous and vulgar and insulting and it certainly is - and also the funniest movie I can remember seeing. I laughed non-stop (while shaking my head in wonder at Borat's "victims": ... Read More

tenacious d is a great band who expertly mix rock and comedy and this soundtrack from their film and the most of the songs are keepers, bit overall this cd doesn't mesh well and alot of the songs get old after awhile and this just isn't their best. but if you liked the movie or their first cd then i reccomend it completely

it's got a *bit* too much comedy/dialogue in it for me, but i really like it. doesn't get old fast, can listen to it a lot. wish there was a bit more music but it's still darn good.

I was hesitant to watch Will Farrell in this film, but was pleasantly surprised. My favorite line of the movie was when Emma Thompson, the writer says something like, if you set out to kill the guy in the story, and the guy wants to change the outcome, wants he finds out he will die, shouldn't those be the guys you keep alive? It speaks to those people who believe in fate, vs a predefined outcome to their lives, and the film overall is a great metaphor for not letting "life pass you by", in lieu of routine and monotony.

All of the characters are well developed and the chemistry is fantastic. I love Maggie and Dustin in these roles, and Emma Thompson as usual, is standout, as she is faced with her writer's block, and struggles with writing a tragedy vs a comedy. The film also reminds us what ... Read More

Superbly done film from beginning to end. The cast is outstanding. The plot is very imaginative. David Bowie is unrecognizeable! The sets, costumes, dialogue and cimematography are all top drawer. One of the most entertaining movies ever. Keeps you guessing right up to the final frame. If you're not entertained by it, check for a pulse!

I really can't think of a better science fiction movie in the last decade. It isn't about the standard story of how we bring about our own demise, or the immediate aftermath. In fact, we don't even know why people stop having children. Instead, we look at the world twenty or so years from now, and see how people have learned to deal with it.

What really makes this a superb movie is the way in which the story is told. Long, single shots make this a beautiful movie in its own right. Most things are shown, not told, and whenever I watch it I see something new (watch for the worn out London Olympics 2012 sweatshirt!). Technology has progressed in a believable way, and is there not to show off the latest in special effects but to draw you in to the realism. Each little thing sums up to an amazing movie.

How many mediocre takes on genre clichés and half-hearted performances of a ridiculous piecemeal script can you pack into an hour and a half? What sort of mess would result from an uninspired pastiche of the hooks of Ritchie, Tarantino, and Ocean's Thirteen, a hopeless attempt to borrow together the coolest movie evar? Smokin' Aces has the answers. Some times it seems like a poorly executed rip-off, other times like a poorly executed parody.
Things explode fairly nicely, in general, though also implausibly. Sadly, Ryan Reynolds' head does not.

When I got these picks, I started playing my guitar right away. However, my guitar grew teeth and grew 100 times and started destroying Los Angeles, but my guitar and I were soon forgiven because I was shredding so hard.
