I got this camera for taking on trips outdoors. I wanted something small that was water proof. Everything works well and the pictures during a sunny day are great. When there is less light, it suffers a bit. Auto mode picture taking is ok but I wish there were manual modes. It is tough to get the picture I want at night. ISO 400 and above is grainier than other compact cameras. The pictures are a bit soft but reproducible to nice prints. Water proof in the surf. You should definitely give it a fresh water rinse after use. Make sure that there is no sand in the lens cover. I heard that it would get stuck but I have not experienced this yet. Don't hesitate on purchasing this replacement battery, it is every bit as good, maybe even better, than the battery that comes with the cameras. I am personally amazed by how long the life on these batteries are!

this camera is an excellent camera to take with you when your going in the water (salt or pool) pictures are good enough quality for me even blown up they still look good. i have not played with the video on this yet and am not really intending to but from its 15fps rate the quality will probably be on the choppy side if you really care about the video. underwater pictures come out good in the pool. i tried getting some in the ocean but our water is too murky and not enough light. I picked this camera out for my birthday. It is wonderful! The pictures are clear and sharp,no matter how much they are enlarged. The 7x zoom allowed me to take great videos from 20 rows up at a recent sporting event. I wish the sound was a little louder, but when you download to a computer, it is easily adjusted. The scene selector is fantastic, just select what you want to photograph, push OK, and click! I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants a small compact camera loaded with features. Worth every penny.

I purchased this camera for vacations on the water and the ability to take shots in rainy weather. It is indeed waterproof and durable, however the shutter lag makes it very frustrating when photographing children. I have a lot of just missed shots because of the delay. Once taken, the colors seem very vibrant. Once again it is Ok but not great.

I took a look at this product in a store prior to purchasing it. There is no way the orange band would cinch around my wrist. Even getting it to stay on my upper arm was a challenge, and that was just on dry land. I'm sure things would loosen up further in the water. I didn't get to test whether or not it floats. Assuming it floats and gets your camera to float with it, I would recommend buying this only if you have large hand/wrist OR if you have a separate, tighter wrist band to secure your camera to your wrist.
