My home is so quiet at night, apart from random outside noise and my cats going nuts at various hours. In order to help my daughter sleep through this crazy times, this item helps create the soothing white noise that will help her stay asleep when I put her in her crib.

The Lamaze peacock was one of the first toys we were given for our son. Personally, I think he's fun to look at. Jacques the peacock made me want to run out and see what other toys Lamaze has... unfortunately, I think I've already got the best one. This video came highly recommended from a friend who is a new parent. It is absolutely fabulous - I am 7 months pregnant, so have yet to apply the (very simple) techniques learned in this video. One of my biggest fears is that I will not be able to calm my baby. It is amazing to see screaming babies in this video turn to relaxed and quiet in a matter of seconds (literally!). The video is giving me the confidence I need to be able to tackle being a new mom.

I purchased this for a shower gift after having a child of my own and thinking that this product could have saved me some wondering during blurry-eyed nights. Of course months after the shower after the baby arrives, the couple removes the packaging and throws it away before turning it on- the display is broken. It has a few bars showing and the functions don't work. How embarrassing to spend money on a shower gift only to have it broken!! With the packaging gone, I assumed I couldn't return it so I apologized to the couple and flushed $25 down the toilet.

I love this Magic Cube. It was a gift from a friend, and is a fantastic toy. The musical selection is good, the quality of the tones is also quite good. It is the first interactive toy my four month old baby figured out how to use, though he tends to hit the sides with his feet rather than his hands. You won't regret this one!

This book should be compulsory for every expecting parent. It gives a completely fresh perspective on the early months of having a newborn, and Dr. Karp provides a nice counterbalance to many of the books on the market that tell you not to spoil your child and how to train them to sleep. Reading this (unfortunately, only when my baby was already about 5 weeks) really changed my life and my perspective as a mother.
