This is perfect. I haven't really gotten a chance to test it out on a soaking wet area of ground yet, but it's been in heavy use since we got it (bought two actually - one for our van, the other for our bike for stops and picnics). It's a good compact size, but still ample for 2-3 adults or 4-5 children. Folding it is a bit worse than folding a map to get it so that the handles will match up, but big deal. Fleece top seems a bit thin, but then helps with cleaning it and drying if it gets wet.

This blanket was easily the best purchase I have made recently. It's versatility in going from blanket to poncho to picnic tarp is bar none best. One side is soft fleece while the other is waterproof nylon. Whether on the beach or on dewy grass, there's no worries about water seeping through and ruining any potential romantic destinations. As a camp blanket, it's light enough to take the place of a sleeping bag (depending on conditions). One can freely lay it across a pile of leaves (which are dry on top but wet underneath). Very usefull.Could of sold these blankets when we went to the shore in Jersy and at Beach in O.C. Md. Alot of sungoers asked where we got it. It was very windy one day and it stayed put.Its water proof so when the tide comes in and sokes your stuff your not haulin a heavy wet blanket home and it wraps rite up into its own little pouch in seconds with no attached sand .We love it.
