I brought this DVD based on the MANY recommendations and was very disappointed. It is slow, boring and unchallenging. The instructor is sooooo annoying and talks in an over-the-top soft "earth mother" voice.

Instead try the Sarah Hollidays prenatal series, Perfect Pregnancy Workout Vol 2. Yoga or Christine Andersons prenatal yoga DVD.

I used this all the time when preparing for my first baby. It helped to clarify the differences between all the different baby stuff that all seems alike. This is worth the money even if you just use it to compare and select your infant carrier and/or car seats. I even bought a copy for my girlfriend who was expecting 4 months after me.

 : Bella Band Lace
I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this product. I usually don't write reviews, but I had to rate the product that saved me so much money.
I'm five feet tall and a pre-pregnany size 0/2. Somewhere in my fifth month, my pants were becoming uncomfortably tight. I asked around and was told to buy the bella band. I was really skeptical, having only seen the giant panel pants at the stores. I don't like anything too tight, so after trying on these pants, I opted for the black and white lace bands instead. The bella band can cover your entire belly or be folded over, depending on what you like. The lace looks like a camisole. The band is worn over your unbuttoned pre-pregnancy pants. It was a lifesaver. I am currently at the end of my eighth month, have gained about 26lbs, and ... Read More

I really like this workout, I would recommend for beginners and advance workout. I feel great after I do workout.
The background is not that great, but it doesn't bother me...

I bought several of these Bella Bands when I started outgrowing my normal (pre-maternity) clothes. I liked that I could still wear my favorite jeans a few months longer, but I must say that it wasn't very comfortable. And, at work (I have an office job), I get up and down from my desk all day and each time I stood up I needed to pull down the Bella Band because it would ride up when I was sitting. This makes for a slightly embarrassing moment at the office if anyone is watching me pull it down.

I've heard from other women talk about another product that you can buy where a panel zips in to your pants/jeans and buttons like your normal pants (but haven't found them myself). They say it's much more comfortable and I would have to guess that you don't have the problem of the panel needing to be adjusted ... Read More

: Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy
I bought this book because in the early weeks of my pregnancy, I had lots of questions. Mayo Clinic has been a reliable source for medical information for me over the years and it didn't stop when I became pregnant. I used their website ([...]) to look up all kinds of information in their Pregnancy Center. It was without hesitation, especially with such a high review on Amazon, that I bought this book.

I read it often in the early weeks of my pregnancy in addition to relying on their website, I realized that much of the information overlaps. I really should have just stuck to the website, because I rarely read the book anymore because it is just a repeat.

Recently, I stopped at the library to pick the lowly Amazon rated "What to Expect When You're Expecting". I cracked open the book and couldn't ... Read More

This book should be compulsory for every expecting parent. It gives a completely fresh perspective on the early months of having a newborn, and Dr. Karp provides a nice counterbalance to many of the books on the market that tell you not to spoil your child and how to train them to sleep.

Reading this (unfortunately, only when my baby was already about 5 weeks) really changed my life and my perspective as a mother. My life, because it provided me the means to calm my fussy baby and help her sleep. My perspective, because it reinforced that some of the things that seemed natural to me -- holding her close a lot, wearing her, etc. -- were in fact good things, not bad habits that would need to be broken.

I stopped swaddling after about 3 months (she was too big and kicked it all off), and stopped some ... Read More

I received three pregnancy workouts in the mail today. Two were yoga ones and the other was this Denise Austin DVD. I'm not in great shape, but before I got pregnant (and super ill) I would run about 3 miles a week. Yoga for your pregnancy with Kristen Eykel had a lot of poses that looked so uncomfortable I wouldn't even try it. I hated it! Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea was much better, but neither one felt like a workout. Denise Austin's DVD not only got me sweating, but I felt my breathing open up, and she got in a lot of good stretching and toning. Plus you can customize your workout. I chose the 5 minute breathing and kegels, 20 minute cardio workout, and then 20 minute 2nd trimester toning, and it just plays those selections for me in a row, so I don't have to find the remote and manuver the menu repeatedly. All together ... Read More
