this mount is very solid, and works well. my main issue is less with the mount itself v. my nec vt800 projector. the projector has a curved bottom surface that has a sharp drop off, where the mounting screws are. this caused me to have to go to the hardware store and find some plastic extensions and longer screws, in order for this mount to work, and not have to return the mount to amazon for another one. once i got the pieces i needed, it was assembled in about 10 mins total. why i only give it 4 stars instead of 5 is simple. i had another mount for another difficult-to-mount projector that came with extensions that were bent at a 45 degree angle, which this mount should also have come with. the extensions pieces it comes with work well, and there's three different lengths, but ... After I struggled against it for a whole hour, I decided to send it back. I contacted the seller and they told me I should contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer's response was very quick. The following is what they told me. It maybe works for someone who experiences the same problem as me. --"...You might try taking the screen off the wall while extended and turn the case upside down (with the help of your friend) and see if the locking mechanism will disengage. HAVE ONLY HAD THIS UNIT FOR 30 DAYS AND IT IS VERY SATISFACTORY AND SEEMS TO BE THE BEST $ VALUE. I DO FEEL THAT ONKYO. SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED A MUCH BETTER VENTILATION FAN, AS THE UNIT GETS QUITE HOT. I PURCHASED A FAN THAT I PLACED ON THE TOP OF THE UNIT AND IT HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. INCOMING & OUT GOING CIRCULATION WAS NEEDED!!!!
