Well priced, easy to install and use, lightweight and durable, overall a great buy. Only problem was it would search for connectivity even though it was inches away from the USB key... Not sure what thats about but it doesn't happen often.

I bought this product for my daughter over a year ago. It looked good and worked great for about 3 months. She called me from college (out of state) to tell me it was acting strangely. (It was taking a long time to boot up, show a black screen, then shutdown and restart.) My daughter brought the unit home during the Thanskgiving break. I had the unit shipped to HP service. They informed me that the issue was related to the heat sink. They replaced the heat sink and returned it to my daughter. The same problems manifested itself a few months later. Worked for about 1 month before the cursor started moving itself all over the screen at random all the time. And yes, I checked, its the mouse. Also, this much money for a mouse without a retractable cord is ridiculous. Feels cheaply made, cheap thin cord, no retractable cord, broke after a month and not that cheap in price. Doesn't get much worse than that.

I haven't tried downloading softs, but it does not work with Vista directly. also, small mouse, hard to fit to hand if you are using a different shape mouse.

I've purchased many Kingston flash drives, and I've only ever had one DOA (though they issued an RMA promptly - good service). It was a 2GB, and I worried about the quality of their higher-capacity drives after that. However, the price on this 8GB was good, so I took the plunge and bought two. I have not been disappointed with either one! In fact, the write speed is about twice what I usually see on my 1GB versions of this drive! Highly recommended, especially to those who don't want to bother with U3 or need ReadyBoost. This drive is a solid performer.

I use this machine for music, dvd's, online streaming of tv shows, managing my photos, video conferencing, video editing, music editing and it can handle it all. I have had the laptop for almost 1 year and after getting used to the dreaded Vista, I now quite like it. Vista seems good for Home rather than Office use, I can understand businesses sticking with XP. My previous laptop was a year 2000 Dell Inspiron. For years that computer was holding on to its last breath, eeking out its miserable existence. Getting the HP Pavilion was like upgrading from a Citroen 2CV to a spacecraft. Importantly, I have experienced no serious overheating problems and the power cord has a solid connection to the laptop.

I purchased this unit for my son who is entering his freshman year of high school. I have an HP unit for work that has been very reliable so thought I would give this a shot for him. He is very happy with it, works great for surfing and watching videos. We have not tried the Blue Ray player yet, but assume it will be nice. Having the 3 GB of Ram appears pretty crucial as I recently was upgraded (?) to Vista at work and my machine, which does not have that much Ram, runs pretty slow on it, but his works much quicker. Only drawback might be the wieght of this unit. It has an amazing battery life, but it comes at a heavy price, pun intended, the thing weighs a lot comparatively, but all in all, well worth the money and was very easy to fire up and start working on it right away.

Product too slow. Vista needs min. of 1gig of ram and thats all this computer has. I thoght toshiba would lighten up on the software to run vista but I guess when are going backwards in technology.

Pros: Reasonable price; bright, sharp display; 4 USB ports; accepts all the common memory cards; nicely sized, functional keyboard; power brick is smaller than average. Cons: Heavy; only came with 1GB of memory (but easily upgradeable to 2GB by user for around $40); built-in speakers are crappy.

Very comfy and nice to look at. Great number of pockets and zips. I love it. I believe the best for deal for cheap. There are other backpacks more comfortable or larger but even much more expensive. I'm totally satisfied.
