I have to say that this is the first facial moisturizer that I have ever found to work for me! I have pale white skin, and therefore, anything with aloe or extra inserts as far as facial lotion goes makes my skin turn burning red. I do not believe that this has to be used with their 3 step line, because I tried their toner, and it made my skin over- dry and rashed. Their facial cleanser, I just didn't even bother with. I thought this would be a good moisturizer for my combination-oily skin. Wrong. It made my face look shiny the moment I applied it, while leaving my skin feeling tight and dry. The idea is nice; oil-free, allergy tested to the max; but it's not for me. I also tried the lotion, and that left me greasy. Most of Clinique's products are junk, and the moisturizer is no different.

I have been using it every night at bedtime, but have only noticed the darkness around my eyes getting worse. Others have noticed it too. I do not have bags under my eyes, but just a darker skin coloring than the rest of my face. I've noticed the dark color spreading in the past few months. Also in the morning, I find that the product leaves a hardened residue that sometimes irritates my eyes. I do have East Asian skin, and was trying something not made for my type of skin.

I bought this with the 3 step kit because I have oily skin. It has a slightly gooey-sticky feel and does the job. However if you use it frequently your face will become very dry and irritated (especially during dry winter months). I highly recommend getting the facial moisturizer when using this product and use lots of it if your face becomes extremely dry. My advice is to use this every other day if you develop the reaction described, or limit it 3 times a week. Other than that it does what it's suppose to.
