How can a thermometer labeled specifically for frothing not include the critical 80-100 degree range?? I wish I had been more careful before buying this since I simply cannot use it without knowing that vital 80-100 degree range, but who would have thought a thermometer marketed toward one specific purpose would not include the ability to use it for said purpose?

i have had this machine for about a month now and its my first espresso machine. so far i love it. i think it makes a very nice shot with a nice carmel colored crema. my barista friend who uses a comercial machine from when he owned a coffee shop says it looks as good as his. this is a totally manual machine however so its up to you to run the machine to extract just how you want the shot to end up. only drawback i have is frothing 2 cups of milk back to back, you need to let the machine recover a few minutes before doing the second cup. so when i make one for me and my gal i go ahead and make the two shots and then froth one milk and let her have it and while its recovering i clean up my mess and then hit mine. i think other than being a little short the steam nozzle works great

The handle has broken off two times. Buying a 3rd pitcher because I like how wide the opening is for frothing.

Luxury and delicious. Every morning a perfect and hot latte in a glass that feels and looks beautiful. I heat the milk in the microwave and pour the espresso over all. I have been doing so for many months now--with one loss as someone tried leaving one on the porch for a day or so. Otherwise, a little care and no worries. It is well worth the effort!

I bought a pair of these because they were the mainstay in my favorite Boston area cafe (the Diesel!) and since relocating to Arizona, hot coffee in clear glasses has been missing from my life. These glasses are beautiful to look at, a pleasure to hold and drink from and insulate you from both cold and hot drinks so you can comfortably lift a hot coffee without getting burned or put a tall cold one on a wooden table without a coaster. Also because of the double walled glass, they look cool - the drink seems to "float" inside the glass. But be careful - they are glass and not plastic so they'll break with an impact on a hard floor, countertop or sink. Since I'm Italian I can claim a good experience in moka coffee. There's nothing wrong with this one, you cannot expect the same quality as espresso. Using good coffee beans, well ground and packing it right you'll have a good coffee. Just a matter of pratice. Remember: you don't need soap to wash it, keep the fire far from the handle and change the O-ring periodically.

I have owned this tea press for a considerable time; I had put it back for a while. I just now began using it again, and I now remember why I had shelved it. It is impossible to pour tea from this pot without spilling it. This is very annoying - annoying to the point that I am finally going to put it out of my misery. Oh, also, I am not pleased with the plastic strainer that has holes way too big. I wish I had my money back.....

This is the first burr type grinder we have owned. Our old blade grinder finally broke so I bought one for my husband's birthday based on the reviews here and elsewhere. He uses it for a french press. I actually had stopped grinding my own coffee because I could never get it fine enough for my small espresso machine. I have been having it ground at the store where I buy my espresso beans, therefore having to grind a a lot at one time and not having it freshly ground every day which is better for freshness. I thought I would give it a try myself, and was amazed at what a great, and fast job it did. There is one caveat that I see has been mentioned by some of the reviewers here. These are great little glasses for espresso. They are about 3 oz., so I use them when pulling double shots. The extra ounce allows some room for drips or for pulling the double long. No heat comes through to the outer surface of the glass so you don't burn your fingers and the shot stays hot longer. I love using a transparent glass to show off the crema - it looks like a mini pint of Guiness!
