My 19 year old daughter was diagnosed as gluten intolerant and we started a search for information. I found this book on amazon.com and I was amazed at the fantastic reviews. They are well deserved. My daughter could not put the book down. Most books on the subject are either medical books or nutritional guides. This is an entertaining read which is FULL of useful info such as how to snack at a party. I have spoken with the author Danna Korn and she is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Do not assume a "Dummies" book is too simple. It makes a complicated medical condition simple to understand.

This book has some good information and recipes... but there's a lot that are sort of a joke/waste of space. I don't need this sort book to contain recipes that are naturally gluten-free like salads and chili, etc. There is also a tendency to include recipes like Mac and Cheese but the way that it becomes gluten-free is the recipe states that you use gluten-free macaroni (duh). The recipes for things like homemade pasta and bread are much more useful.

What a wonderful job! This book gives the feeling of "you are not alone, i am here with you" to anyone diagnosed with Celiac Disease and/or following a Gluten Free diet. To make a long paragraph short... it is worth reading and it does help a lot. Read it, you wont regret :) Best Wishes, Nadine

Having had Celiac disease for 20 years it is great to have such a wonderful explanation of the disease. There is much I knew already, but this presentation expanded and filled in the details and current research and understanding.

My nutritionist (who is a celiac) asked me to burn this book! The advice is fanatical. Throw away your non-stick cookware, plastic containers and wooden spoons because they are contaminated. Pleassse!

I bought a container of GF cookies and a sticker showed the cover of the book, as the recipe had come from it. The flour mix is great I have substituted it in many of my own personal recipes. I do not like the fact that some recipes call for PHO's but I just change to butter or saflower oil and it still works out fine.

I bought this book thinking it would be of great help to me. I found it to be absolutely useless. There are so many other valuable tools to use and informative books out there that I can only say - use your common sense - you know what you can and can't have & all you have to do is ask the server to check in the kitchen to make sure that thee either isn't, or won't be, any gluten ingredients used. I live very near NYC and I can name so many gluten free restaurants that weren't included that it's ridiculous. Don't waste your money.

I purchased this book for my mother. She was recently diagnosed with allergies to wheat (gluten). She already tried a couple of recipes and loves this book. It is a must have in her opinion. She has found some of the ingredients difficult to find in her small town, however they travel to a larger metropolitan area about once a month and she picks up what ingredients she needs there at a health food store.

This book is great. We tried other cook books for gluten free diet and this is one of the best. I would highly recommend it for those who need to be gluten free.

Wow! All the recipes I have tried have been fantastic! A.R.Clearly has tried and adjusted the recipes until they work. I bought this 2 months ago and have tried several recipes. I did order Authentic Foods flour, as suggested, and am very happy I did so, since the super-fine grind has clearly made a difference. I have tried the basic sandwich bread and it has far exceeded any others I have bought or made from scratch or a mix (with the possible exception of Whole Foods brand Gluten-Free frozen bread). This week I sat at my desk at work and was eating a sandwich with this bread. A friend stopped by and did a double-take! She said "it's so unusual to see you eating such a yummy-looking sandwich!"
