For What I will use this for it will last longer than me but that beats the hell out of going to a store and remembering to buy it every year and I know it is forulated to work with the particular chain saw I bought so it's well worth the price!

I bought this to go along with my electric lawn mower. I bought 12-gauge to make sure it delivered strong, steady power, but I'm second guessing the need given how heavy it is. This gauge in 100-foot length is weighty and takes some room. I was finally able to put it on a cord reel and it barely fit one designed for 125 feet of 14-gauge. The casing doesn't seem as durable as other cords I've worked with. The vinyl scuffed up roughly very easily on the first use. The plug ends are big and bulky, barely fits into the recess on the mower, and may not fit items that do not have a flat access. so BEWARE! All I can say is "WOW!" After reading about this blower/vacuum in Consumer Reports, and how well it worked, I decided to purchase it. I searched all over the internet, but found that Amazon's "amazing" price of just under $70 was unbeatable. That included free shipping. My blower/vac arrived the next day. Lucky me! Anyhow, It has PLENTY of power. Matter of fact, it has more power than the gas powered backpack blower I had, which pleasantly surprised me. I used the Toro to clean my gutters, and blow and vacuum my leaves, and it did all 3 jobs easily. Again, I'm "blown away" with the amount of power it has. The only "inconvenience" is having to pull an extension cord around with it, but you can solve that by buying the longest extension cord you can find. You know how they always say that sharpening more than makes up for the time it takes? Believe it. I was on the steep side of the learning curve with my Stihl, and when I bought this sharpener- it turned the saw into a beast. Evidently, I had not been sharpening quite right. I've been using the Dremel attachment for about 5 years, after every 2-3 tanks of gas. The saw cuts faster, with less strain on the saw and on ME. Remember to set the depth gauge. If you own a Dremel- buy this thing. Remember eye protection :)

I spent more time untangling my 100' extension cord from this reel than I've ever spent untangling my cord w/o it. By the time I finally got the cord untangled, the reel had cracked. It wasn't worth the hassle.

This is a cheapo plastic reel. Seems to be holding up. I drilled a hole in the plastic to feed the male end of the extension cord though. I can't imagine how you are supposed to use this without the hole. I have a 100 ft. 12 guage electrical cord, which fits just fine.
