This book was a disappointment to me - three basic recipes for ice cream to which you then add different ingredients. They also have some sorbet and drink recipes. Their background was interesting, but I could have read it online. After making a few of their recipes we decided we liked our old standby (which is one of theirs as well): 2 cups milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk (we use nonfat), then you can add a little more sugar if you like, an egg, almond and/or vanilla extract. Mix and use your ice cream freezer.....easy and delicious with whatever extra goodies you may wish to add! Save your money and buy a little better ice cream maker!

Just got this book, and while it does seem to have an ample supply of different recepies (and all that contain raw eggs do have you cook them into a custard, unlike the Ben & Jerry's cookbook), none of them contain any nutritional information. I purchased this book along with my Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Ice Cream Maker, and I guess the recepies included with the instruction manual (there are quite a few, all with nutritional info) spoiled me. I suppose if you're making ice cream the last thing you might care about is calorie, fat, cholesterol, etc. details. But for me, I am so conditioned to tracking the nutritional info of the food I am ingesting (even ice cream!) and I am so used to this info always being readily accessible, that I returned this book. We like our Cuisinart ice cream maker so much that we ordered a second freezer bowl. We have owned several ice cream makers in the past, but the Cuisinart method of freezing the bowl before making the ice cream has minimized the fuss. We can make two batches in less time than the other makes can produce one.

What can I say? "Perfect Scoop" will make you look like a superstar! I've been playing with this book for months and to date, I've tried over 1/3 of the recipes. I've used this book more than any other in my collection. The photos are enticing and the recipes are written in a clear, approachable manner. David sets you up for success. My top 3 favorites: gianduja, Vietnamese coffee, and malted milk.

This book had some nice pictures, but the recipes were not as interesting as those in some other Ice Cream/ Gelato books offered by Amazon.

My neck and shoulders always have alot of pain. So scooping ice cream that is too hard has been very difficult! But with this scooper - it is a breeze-no matter how hard the ice cream is! The scooper just slides in and brings out perfect balls of ice cream. The pleasure of eating ice cream is just all that much better! Highly recommended! Thank you Cuisinart....

I've found the recipes a bit hit and miss in terms of my personal preference. My biggest complaint is the frequent use of corn syrups as ingredients--the whole reason I'm making homemade ice cream is to use fresh, natural ingredients rather than buying ice cream from the store full of corn syrup and other processed ingredients.

Wow, I can't believe the fervor over finding the perfect ice cream scoop! It almost compares to the search for a better mousetrap. That said, this scoop is a good one. It is made very strongly and is well balanced to make scooping your ice cream easier, even when it's frozen hard. The thickness of the metal in the scoop part helps to melt the ice cream as you scoop into it. Heating it a bit in hot water would help as well. The handle is easy to hold and attached solidly to the scoop so it should not break. I've had this for 6 months and am very pleased with it's performance. I've washed it in the dishwasher and had no problems with the coating coming off. I recommend it.

Was so excited to receive my ice cream maker. Froze the bowl for 2 1/2 days and chilled the custard overnight. The mixture never thickened up or froze at all. What a waste of money and cream.
