I have been teaching classroom music for over 30 years. I also teach guitar. I was always afraid to begin young children on guitar, because the coordination was too difficult for them. I discovered The Kid's Guitar Course, Book 1 and Book 2 a few years ago. It is kid friendly. It has only a little music on each page, has fun pictures and clear explanations. I thnk it's a pretty good product. It doesn't look exactly like the pictures shown. It has a black pearl effect and on one side a big silver "Musicians Friend" logo that can be very easily scraped off if undesired. All in all good value.

This book turned out to be just what my daughter needed. She is 10 and just starting to learn some chords. This book is simple and easy to understand without alot of extra information. She can take it with her. I recommend this book for a child or teenager just getting started.

We are very impressed with Vol. I of Kid's Guitar, by Homespun Tapes. Mary Marxer is upbeat, cheery, and easy to track with. The set is colorful, and she goes slowly enough that the children can 'get it' but not too slowly. We will definitely be ordering Vol. 2 when we're finished learning all there is to master in this first DVD. Highy recommended for beginners, or those who need a refresher course!

We are very impressed with Vol. I of Kid's Guitar, by Homespun Tapes. Mary Marxer is upbeat, cheery, and easy to track with. I purchased two of these to hold my 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars and they are doing exactly as they are meant to. They are both set on soft carpet and still are very sturdy. Often I plop my guitars into them (as opposed to setting them down nicely) and they don't budge. They seem cheap, but they hold their own...as well as my guitars (insert laughs here)

I purchased this for my son last Christmas (I paid around 40.00 new for it on Amazon, but noticed the price has doubled). We can great fun with it until the next day it broke. I know things happen such as this, and it was probably just "bad luck" for me---but I would not advise paying more than $20.00 for this.
