This is classic Jon Gindick - Jon tells you entertaining stories while he gets you playing - meanwhile hipping you to harmonica lingo and musical situations - and to the coolness of the harmonica - in the process. Highly recommended.

I bought this case because I wanted to be able to put the harmonica in my pocket and not have it get banged up on my car keys or cell phone. The standard plastic cases that come with harmonicas are too fat and hard to be comfortable in a pocket. This is a well made case with a good zipper and padding, but it is about 50% too long for a Horner Special 20 or similar 10 hole diatonic harmonica. It is obviously made with "one size fits all" in mind. As such, it is bulkier than I wanted, but still usable.

My husband got a harmonica for his birthday but had no idea how to play. He can't read music and quickly got discouraged. This book taught him to play songs and now he plays his harmonica all the time. Yay!

This is the third type I have purchased so far, the other two being the Hohner Special 20's and Lee Oskar Major Diatonic. As far as quality, warmth, looks, and appeal, this harmonica beats them all hands down in every category! My favorite thing about this harmonica is the classic wooden comb, giving it a much more rich, folky, Bob Dylan-esque tone (which is what I was going for). I find bending and overblowing much easier on this harmonica as well although that is not what I bought this harmonica for. There is a reason that this is the most storied and popular harmonica of all time. It truly has made me a believer. As for some future purchases to look into, if this is indeed the type of harmonica you are looking for, check out the new line of wooden combed harmonicas made by Suzuki, the ... Read More
