I bought this razor from another place, but I had been scoping it out here for awhile and felt I had to write a review. I'm 20 years old so I'm not an old timer with nostalgia, I just was looking for a better shave. It just happens to be a better shave that is much much cheaper. When I first got this I was afraid of cutting my face off. I'm happy to say I've been using it a week with not a single cut. It is absolutely amazing how much better this is than my old Gillette fusion. It is much closer, and absolutely zero irritation. Even where I used to get irritated on my neck is absolutely irritation free. I seriously recommend taking the plunge and getting one of these. You won't regret it, and it will quickly pay for itself.

I have used Proraso for a long time. I like the smell and menthol effect. Use with or without a brush, but best for me with brush. One way to make it last longer is to use about what you'd place on your toothbrush, then mix with a hard soap. Makes great lather with the right water/soap mix. Don't know how I'd shave without it, unless I get Bigelow (which is made by the same company).

For a person just getting started, or starting over again, this is a great how to book. It is amazing how involved you can get over something as simple as shaving.

This is a great product. It's very nicely sized, fitting most soaps. It's very light because the metal is then, yet very sturdy and good for travel because the cap stays on. And since it's stainless it doesn't bleed anything into the soap like wood can. And fits perfectly in the palm when lathering up.

Colonel Conk Bay Rum shaving soap lathers up easily, has a nice Bay Rum fragrance, and doesn't dry on my face. I would highly recommend this as a Christmas gift. Besides, this might be something like the kind of soap your grandpa once used. For those who haven't heard of it before, bay rum is a spicy scent,and you might like to add Clubman Bay Rum after shave lotion to your order as well. You'll love it.

This only the second shaving brush I've used, the first being a really cheap boar hair brush. The Tweezerman is much better. It cleans and dries much more quickly, and it doesn't lose as many bristles per shave as the cheaper one. I'm giving it a four because it's a the first badger hair brush I've used, and perhaps the more expensive ones do a better job. If you're just getting started with wet-shaving, I'd go with the Tweezerman. You don't want to invest in a really expensive brush, then end up not liking it. This one does its job and is not overpriced.

This is a wonderful entry-level badger hair brush. I am, however, disappointed with the cheap plastic so-called "stand." It is junk! It is no more than something to keep the brush from being damaged in the plastic tube it is in. Not sure if they sell this without the stand, if so, and it is cheaper, I would not get this stand. rather I would purchase a seperate stand.

You simply have to try this stuff! I tried it because I heard that some good, quality shaving soap would clear up razor burn and help with in-grown hairs and it's true. Just get a decent brush (don't spend too much on it - I spent $3.50 on a boar hair brush) and you're good to go. If you get the amount of water just right you'll find that the lather is better than any of the regular shave creams or foams or gels you can get down at the drug store. Plus, this doesn't have as much impact on the environment. I'm sick to death of plastic packages and cans of shave cream that don't always get recycled. This tub of soap comes in a little plastic container but lasts forever and you can recycle it at the end. I do wish it came in a paper or metal or glass container.
