A few years back when I first got this set, I remember revelling once again in what network television had taken away from me. I was thrilled to own some of my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons. I did notice, however, the disproportionate number of Chuck Jones cartoons, with just a few Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, and Bob McKimson shorts in the mix. Unless subtitled "The Best of Chuck Jones," it really should have featured several shorts from each major director (including Tex Avery and Frank Tashlin). But now I see that what this set lacks for in variety of style, it makes up in variety of characters. This was the mold that shouldn't have been broken. This is a great collection of Looney Tunes. Makes three of the five collections I own and a welcome addition. Recommend it highly.

Volume Four of the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection" is less than golden. A DVD set that wastes an entire disc on Speedy Gonzales - plus another on cats! - should be viewed with careful scrutiny. On the plus side, it's great having a disc devoted to the classic animation of Frank Tashlin. Unfortunately, the Bugs Bunny selections are a mixed bag, with "Operation: Rabbit" and the Oscar-winning "Knighty Knight Bugs" among the few highlights. Despite the generous amount of special features (including the 1975 "Bugs Bunny Superstar" documentary and three Private Snafu shorts), Volume Four lacks a well-rounded display of Warner Bros. cartoon madness.

I loved this Looney Tunes Collection! It kept me laughing right to the end of every cartoon! WHAT A WACKY WABBIT!! Plus all the rest of my favorite characters I grew up watching on Saturday mornings when I was a kid - THA-THA-THA'S ALL FOLKS!

Nit-pickign aside (I read the reviews) I found this collection of Droopy cartoons superb. 10 out of 10. To notice the difference between one method of restoration and another is a time waster. Dixieland Droopy is clever, cute and worthy of awards. Butch as a waiter being tormented by Droopy twins is hilarious. Tex Avery made adult cartoons, so they were never made for children in the first place. That said, they are not edited -- God bless them. But honestly, will four-year-olds understand the humor of a dog who gets black faced when a rifle backfires? Come'on. These are hilarious and children will love them. And iif they are old enough to question whether or not the sterotypes are inappropriate by today's standards... answer them honestly. It's like watching Roots and not answering their questions. For those who have already purchased the Golden Collection vol. 1-5, you'll obviously want to pick this set up. There are enough gems on here to make it worth buying to complete your collection. Some of the most notable shorts were as follows: "Crowing Pains" - my favorite Foghorn Leghorn cartoon, co-starring Barnyard Dawg, Sylvester, and Henery Hawk "Satan's Waitin'" - Sylvester's nine lives get picked off one-by-one. "Bear Feat" - another great Three Bears short "Dog Gone South" - Charlie Dog tries to replace a southerner's bulldog... "Oh Belvedere! Come here, boy!" "Herr Meets Hare" - features an operatic moment later reused in "What's Opera, Doc?" "A Cartoonist's Nightmare" - a now-common gag of an animator interacting with his drawings. The cover designs on these DVDs are awful compared to the previous DVD releases. But that's just a nit pick I guess. The shorts look wonderful on these new DVDs and are FINALLY priced affordable!

I'm a die hard Bugs Bunny and Looney tunes fan, having grown up watching them as a young child. I slowly watched Saturday mornings get whittled away and slowly watched the cartoons get "politically corrected", but this DVD calls itself the "Movie Collection", yet skips the 2nd movie. "Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie" isn't on here, nor is it even available on it's own. I know there are a lot of people who think it's redundant or disappointing to see chopped up pieces of the same cartoons over and over in each of these movies, but why buy the movies in the first place if you don't like that? It just doesn't make sense to release this DVD without including the missing one when it is just as unique as the others--"Satan's Waitin'", "The Unmentionables", and "The Oswalds"....come on now.
