You get what you pay for. It is a decent wireless notebook adapter. Not great, but once again, you get what you pay for.

Ever since Cisco bought Linksys, product quality has gone straight downhill. Manufacturing quality has gone all plastic, all lights, software and such is downscaled and up went the price. Thank you Cisco. I hope the CEO pf Ciso is enjoying his ill gotten gains. the item never worked properly, and it seemed to be that you have to install the software first then install the item. then is struggles to get a signal and the fight is never worth the results

I originally had the WUSB54Gv4 Linksys adapter on an XP desktop, which worked okay. Though there was a wall in the way, I wasn't very impressed that it only got a 30% signal from a router 8-9ft away. Then I got sick of windows and installed Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. It took me two weeks to get this thing working, and then when I almost had the driver installed, the computer crashed. Never had any problems with Ubuntu on my laptop, but this was a headache. You can probably find a better product for the same price, just keep looking. The Linksys Wireless-G Adapter is a wonderful product that comes with a CD to install the software on the computer. Though I'm saving up to purchase the Linksys Wireless-G Router, the adapter performs it's part perfectly on my computer, in that, my computer says it's connected. At present, I'm simply in need of an internet carrier, which the router will address. I researched this product before purchase and same was highly recommended. I'm happy I made the purchase and recommend this product.

Well priced, easy to install and use, lightweight and durable, overall a great buy. Only problem was it would search for connectivity even though it was inches away from the USB key... Not sure what thats about but it doesn't happen often.

I purchased one of these Cable Modems about a year ago to stop the rental fee from my Cable company. It works great and I have never had a problem with it. I have it connected to a Linksys wireless router for my wireless home network and everything works great together. I have used it with a Netgear wireless router as well with no issues.

Item is not plug and play. If this a replacement for another modem you need to contact your cable company to synch the device. It also required resetting the wirless router which required calling the wireless router provider and if you are using VOIP it requires resetting the phone adapter to synch with the modem and router. Needless to say it was not a painless experience. Outside of that the modem works great.

Very good product. I paid $20 less than the Tivo site was charging. Very happy with this. My signal between PC and Tivo have no problems once I switched to Linksy's router instead of the gateway that came from Verizon.

I read many of the reviews which contained "extra" instructions for set up. I soon realized they pertained to PC set ups. Once the 2 devices discovered each other - I did have to change the SSID on the base back to the default, "linksys" - the Mac and it's Airport software did the rest. Great signal strength throughout the house now!

Using this device as an access point only. Connected to a D-Link DGL4100 Gaming Router. Network of 3 PCs is wired with 1 laptop, also wired. Before setup, I read about security, WEP v. WPA/WPA2-Personal and MAC address filtering. Security concerns were the reason for the wired network. I used the CD to auto setup, and then manually configured after logging into the address my router assigned to the Access Point via DHCP (your router will change the default ip if you have it set to do so. It's status page should tell you the new ip). At first, I used simple WEP encryption. Connection was quick. Then I played with the WPA encryption. Had problems connecting and stuck with WEP.
