I really love this magazine. I have found a lot of ideas for dresses, colors, cakes, decorations and much more. I really recommend this for any woman who is planning her dream wedding. It is a great tool to have and one of the best that I have found!

I like this magazine. It's kind of pricey and has far too many ads, but.....all in all it's a pretty good magazine. I especially like the articles and pictures on real weddings.

Very nice ideas. I think this is better than Modern Bride. It has around 50% less pages than Brides and Modern Bride though. But i think that's just because Elegant Bride has less ads.

Well with both of my children getting married, we had to have somewhere to start. This journal was highly recommended. I will let you know of my satisfaction or dis when it is all over.

This book has great ideas, but I would NOT recommend reading it from start to finish as soon as you get it. The book is packed w/so much information that it is overwhelming at first, especially for a newly engaged bride. And the book tends to paint a negative picture of the wedding industry, which left me feeling somewhat hopeless. Rather I found it most helpful to read in sections when I was working out the details for specific parts of the wedding such as attire, reception, ceremony, etc. The oddest thing about the book is that it jumps around from one topic to another in a disorganized fashion. The chapters are broken down into topics, but the authors allude to other parts of the book in each chapter of it.

I have never seen a more offensive wedding planning book, especially one claiming to help save money. This author suggests buying or borrowing a wedding etiquette book, but it appears that she has never read one! She advocates greed, selfishness, and poor form in general. She masks this with statements like this one when discussing honeymoon and mortgage (!) registries: "Warning: it is never appropriate to ask for money as a wedding present, so you're going to have to be subtle about this kind of registry." ARE YOU KIDDING? She's basically saying, it's never acceptable but you can do it anyway as long as you're sneaky. Gross. After casually flipping through Cosmo while waiting in line at the grocery store when I was in college, I finally decided to subscribe, and boy did I regret it. I was hoping to enjoy Cosmo as my monthly guilty pleasure, but what I got was an incredibly banal reading experience. The fashion, hair, and skin tips are not bad, but similar advice can easily be found in a several better magazines. Cosmo however, became a cultural staple because of the promise of its cover teasers. Yet, for anyone over the age of 14, the articles that these teaser headlines offer are uninformative and generally useless. I've been planning my wedding for the past few months and I've been relying on this book, Easy Wedding Planning Plus by Elizabeth and Alex Lluch, and Bridal Bargains by Denise and Alex Fields. This book covers all the etiquette questions that crop up when planning a wedding (who are you supposed to buy gifts for, who is expected to pay for what, etc.) It also offers a tremendous amount of other information such as tips for saving money, things to think about when selecting flowers, music, etc. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it won't stand alone. I used the planning book to really keep everything organized, and the budget book offered a lot more specific advice on saving money (specific vendors, websites, etc.)

I love Marie Claire magazine! I have been a subscriber for over 5 years and I hope they never change this magazine. It has ton of great make-up, fashion and beauty articles but it also has lots of intelligent articles. It keeps readers looking good but also keeps readers informed about the U.S, world problems, and womens rights issues around the world. Unlike other fashion magazines, Marie Claire is not self absorbed or full of snooty articles or ugly clothing that costs as much as my house. It is a really good, interesting magazine at a great price!!
