As always we received the DVD's in record time from USA. Both DVD's were excellent and as they were from Louis L'Amour's books which my husband has all of his books, we did enjoy the films. We like buying off Amazon as we know we will get a good product. Thank You

We really enjoy Tom Selleck's movies. This is a good western. Great movie to share with friends and family especially on a cold snowy day.

Don't know why I'm asked to review this movie by Amazon...computers don't make mistakes right? But I recently found a Tom Selleck 3 movie set at Walmart that had the Monte Walsh movie. I'd seen the old Lee Marvin version a few times but I thought Tom was excellent in this great story. I highly recommend Tom Selleck as a Western star. He's super and to me has only two equals -- Tom Berenger and Sam Elliot. Oh yes, by the way, all the actors were great in this and I was very impressed by George Eads as Shorty. Isabella Rosellini was super, too. The Carradines are always great too. I heartily commend and recommend all the TNT western movies and I am no relation to Ted Turner.

More than just a romantic western (though it is that), this story gives us a picture of manliness we don't often see: the honor, generosity, courtesy, courage, independence and toughness which duty demands of a man, and how those around him are better off when he rises to meet that standard. The young cowhand (Johnny?) in the story is confronted with the hard decision between two opposing paths. Nor is Conn Conagher any wishy-washy, "tolerant" compromiser when it comes to what is right for men to do. For most boys coming of age today, such times and such men are long gone, it seems. Yet those who aspire to be counted as men face that same hard decision. They deserve to be presented with the choices in such clear terms.

My husband knows all about Tom and me. He knows that if Tom weren't married, and I weren't married, and if Tom played his cards just right... Monty Walsh has got to be one of my favorite westerns of all time. Tom Sellecks humor, and his honest portrayals of western men is just wonderful. He is a classic, and so is this collection. I recieved it in the mail at my office, and a girl who worked for me said, "Who's the old guy with the cheesy mustache?" I almost punched her in the throat.

Sam Elliott never made a bad movie that I've seen. Love his eyes and the way he cocks his head.

Sometimes a man has to stand up in the face of almost certain death, because to do otherwise is more unbearable. That's one of the lessons in this outstanding Western. Duvall and Costner are 2 of my favorites and they don't disappoint. It's good to see Costner play a man that's not embarrassed about being right and doesn't take the whole movie to convince he ought to defend the weak.
