This kit is essentially what anyone can do on their own but it is conveniently packaged. The goop everyone is referring to is essentially the same as automotive valve grinding compound (which you can get at most auto parts stores). I like the idea of using a power drill to turn the reel while it sharpens - so here's an alternative for anyone who feels like taking a DIY approach: 1. Prop up the lawn mower so you can turn the reel by twirling the wheels. 2. Check the blades for nicks and burrs. If you find any, remove them with a file (hold file flat against blade and push away from spindle). I use a sharpening stone that fits my power drill but that's b/c I'm lazy. 3. I wanted to collect some of my clippings from the reel mower to use as mulch. I had allowed the grass to sit on the lawn. I had been cutting it twice to eliminate missed spots and break down some bigger clippings. This bag doesn't catch everything. You also need to pull back the load and reposition the clippings from the predominate left side every so often. I didn't expect much from this attachment, but it serves my purpose to gather a fair amount of clippings.

Works well, not a weed wacker per se, but good for trimming grass in areas the mower won't reach. The batttery life is pretty good for a cordless tool, I use both to get my large yard done and keep them charging on a timer during the week. No major complaints

I like the whole line of B&D 18V cordless yard tools: Weed Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer, Blower, and Chain Saw. These are clearly homeowner quality. That doesn't mean their bad, just that they're not professional grade. And that's just fine, since I'm not a professional landscaper. For my standard city plot, I have waaaay more juice than I need with the 3 included batteries. I imagine it's enough juice for a moderate sized suburban lot, as well. If you have a LARGE lot, you may want to go gas. The weed trimmer works just fine, and I like the edging feature - it worked far better than I expected, even on my grossly overgrown lawn edges. It is what it is: Simple to assemble (but if you need to use the "hooks" for an 18" make sure they face the right direction) and works as described. Backing up will dislodge the catcher is you do not raise the handle. Need to maintain a good speed for it to catch cuttings optimally.

This was a great buy for us - with the large amount of leaves we have around our property this works great - it doesn't pick up any rocks or branches and is light wieght and easy to carry the shoulder bag - I would definitely recommend this item!

Does the job. It's bigger than my last one; which is good because I can use a little or a lot of charcoal depending on my needs. My lighter won't fit through the slots around the bottom but that's not really a problem. I just lean the can over and light the paper. That second handle comes in handy especially if I fill the can up. It makes it easier to pour out and makes it easier for me to spread the charcoal.
