I wanted a vacuum that had good suction and I definitely got it with this Hoover. It looks a little chintzy, but it is powerful. In fact, it is almost too powerful. My longer rugs take a bit of a beating from it, pulling out loose threads. This also makes it difficult to push over the longer rugs. When you first start the machine, it sucks so quickly and powerfully that you can't move it forward without significant effort. But once you get past the initial strain, it works great. The attachments also work really well, but I wish the hose was a little longer. I haven't tried to replace a bag yet, so I don't know how difficult that is. All in all, I'd say a very useful machine, but its probably best on shorter carpets.

I purchased a Hoover "Tempo": [[ASIN:B0009ONZ8G Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum], and it needs belts periodically...'heard they're a bit of trouble to lay hands on locally, so I 'stocked-up' on Amazon. The product "Number" 40201160 is a bit confusing, and the description should be made to denote that product "Number" 40201160 is Hoover's product number for a PACKAGE OF TWO 38528-033 or 38528033, belts. Having received shipment, and confirming that these were the exact replacement item, I have to say that this is a 'no-brainer' with Amazon's offer for free shipping.

the collecting dust bags are good. it was convenient to order them when the vacuum cleaner was ordered - however, one can get refills for your vacuum cleaner at Walmart, etc. Tax is cheaper than postage if you are going to town to get other things. In my case, living 18 mi. from the nearest store to buy such things, postage is cheaper than gas if all one is driving to town for is to buy replacement vacuum cleaner bags.

Items received was not what was advertised or pictured. First you do not get the 3 layer/3 color filter you expect to be Hoover. It is all white and thin. Until you read the back of the package it's for use in most Hoover product "EXCEPT" upright wind tunnels. Item is virtually useless and too cheap to bother returning. It went from my mail to trash.

I purchased mine through Heartland America, and it was refurbished. I have had several back surgeries and wanted something to replace my junky Bissell, but I was worried about the self propelled "jerking" me around. My mom has one so I tried it and that was all it took! I dont see how I ever functioned without it. This is a great product that I would even reccomend to my ex-wife!

The bags are good quality construction (compared to some other generic type Y bags I got at my local supermarket) and there is a unique sticker system when allows you to seal off the opening after the bag fills and you remove it. I am not sure how useful, but you can close up the hole before putting it into a trash can. The see through strip running up the front seems interesting and for the annoying compulsive neurotic aspects of my personality, it give me a chance to see the details of all the gross stuff I've vacuumed up.

Excellent Iron, great steam and not too heavy. Just one thing the dail for the steam is right at your finger tips and easily gets turned off so you have to be aware of the setting .

I have owned this model for over one year. I knew a number of people who have had older comparable Hoover models for years and had good experiences with them, so I decided to replace my 10-yr old lower line DirtDevil with this Hoover. Just as many other reviewers have complained, the on-off switch of my Hoover WindTunnel stopped working (just after the warranty expired) and the vacuum will no longer turn off by the switch. Instead I have to unplug it from the wall (and it's still "on" when I go to plug it in, too). Safety hazard, anyone?
