Casablanca is generally considered to be on of the greatest films of all time. After watching it i can certainly some evidence for it but i'm not sure if i would necessarily hold it in that high regard. I think a large part of my opinions of this movie come from the fact that it is an older movie and many movies have been influenced directly from it. Watching in today, much of the story, particularly the romance, seemed comical simply because i had seen it used so often. Admittedly, before i saw it i was expecting to not like it at all but luckily i did enjoy most of it. First and foremost i really appreciated the writing. this is a wonderful film and i like it alot, the only thing to complain about is there is alot of singing!! but other then that, it has such beautiful color when Dorathy first steps out of her house, into OZ.

This is a wonderful two-disc edition. I only owned this movie on two videos so you can just imagine the excitement I had getting all the extras that went with this! It is so worth owning and the price is wonderful for such a treasure. It gives great background and is most enjoyable to see all the kids in the movie as grown ups and to also hear Julie Andrews speaking with Christopher Plummer. A true winner!

In the product description is said it has subtitles in spanish, due to the fact that my dad only speaks spanish I thought it would be a great gift for him and make him remember his days of youth, but its just a BIG LIE!!! the movie only has 2 languages: English and French. Now why didn't we returned it? We are too far away to start a process like that and my dad was too excited to take a look at the description that he just peeled off the wrap.

The only problem I have with this DVD of "My Fair Lady" is that it is in letter-box format & it's too scrunched down for me to read the lips. Good thing I know the movie by heart PLUS it has "closed captioning". Other than that, my friend & I completely enjoyed the movie. It arrived SO QUICKLY & the price was SO affordable! I'll do all my Christmas shopping at Amazon!

First, let me get one thing out of the way: Citizen Kane is not the greatest movie ever made. It is the safest choice for the best movie ever made based on who you're trying to kiss up to. The way the critics gush about this movie, you'd think Citizen Kane invented cinematography, nuance, good storytelling, etc. Whoever says that this movie is the greatest movie of all time has only seen fifteen movies. Check out Children Of Paradise, Scenes From a Marriage, Au hassard Balthasar, The Red Shoes, Rashoman, La Dolce Vita, The 400 Blows, The Battle of Algiers, Metropolis, Apocalypse Now, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Making of Citizen Kane, etc, etc, etc. There are thousands of films that can make a strong case for being the greatest film ever made, so I'll just focus on the merits of Citizen Kane. ... We received it from NetFlix, she watched it 3x in a row! Bought it for a Christmas present. Gene Kelly is fabulous, and Donald O'Connor's athleticism and stamina in "Make 'Em Laugh" is amazing. Great song and dance numbers for any age.
