I'm glad to have grown up with this great fantasy movie. I loved the story that you could actually be called up into the reality that the game is just hinting at. This even has a liking to Ender's Game in that regard. A fun video.

Flight of the Navigator is a story that would bring thrills to any young person who is interested in outer space, strange 'creatures' from other planets and trying their hand at actually flying a craft like the one in this movie. The time travel answers some questions about how 'stepping into the future' would affect you and your current family life. The story is entertaining for the entire family.

Indeed, this was the early 90's and I was DEEP in the "hacker scene." Except for the fact that everyone in the movie is a bit too old, it really has the feel of that sense of power you felt when you hacked into a system, or cracked someone's lame software copy protection. But the NAME of this movie is what limited its distribution. I was invited to see this by a colleague of mine and he only told me the name. Hell, I thought it was gonna be some basketball sports film or something. But I went anyway. Was I surprised! This is a good movie, however, I expected more from a bluray version. Film quality is bad - it does not seem to have been post-processed at all to improve the image quality beyond the original film. Poor analog to digital transfer. If you own a DVD or even VCR version of this movie, don't bother repurchasing it.

The original war game was plausible due to its simplicity. David hacked a computer and it started a game. End of story. This one, tracking terrorists via video games, is just ridiculous. Aside from the opening sequence, a waste of time.

When I was a kid, I use to watch this all the time. I remember watching it over and over. I loved it. I recently bought it on dvd so my daughter (whom is 14) can watch it. Unfortunately, she did not enjoy it. I though have very fond memories of it. I still enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch something from the past. I give it a THUMBS UP.

I really loved this movie. I first saw it when I was younger and always wanted to see it again as I got older. The movie gives you hope and makes you believe that when you ask for help you will get it.

Remembering this movie is from the mid eighties, you'll be quite impressed with the special effects, and the lighthearted story is entertaining. I got a real kick out of the terrible alien creatures but it was sad to see the acting talent of a very young River Phoenix and know it would be cut short. All in all, not the amazing movie you might remember if you haven't watched it since you were a kid - but definitely worth watching if you've got kids of your own or if you like to reminisce.
