The action never stops and there's a carefully calculated high-point every 15 minutes at least. The effects are well co-ordinated, and the film is easily Spielberg's most genuinely riveting. The film is produced by George Lucas. Harrison Ford, discovered by Lucas, for STAR WARS, plays the title character, who is BOGART, FLASH GORDON and HAN SOLO rolled into one.

In all seriousness, even with LOWERED EXPECTATIONS (I had heard this movie wasn't very good) the fourth Indiana Jones movie completely underwhelmed me. I kept waiting for a good action scene (Shia Lebuff jousting with a Russian dominatrix on a car does not count) or an interesting plotline or some kind of payoff...NOTHING. This movie is so far removed from the classic first two films (BTW, count me among those who loved Temple of Doom with its breakneck speed, thrills, general creepiness, etc.). Now, I did not have any problem with the extraterrestrial stuff, as there was plenty of supernatural mumbo jumbo in the first three films...however, the "quest" in this movie LED TO NOTHING!!! I loved this movie it is every bit as good as the first if not better. A great adventure. a must see!

The worst film I've seen in a long time. Senseless violence, one-dimensional characters and outright racist portrayals of arabs. Robert Downey Jr. shows the emotional range of an earthworm. He wisecracks stone-faced throughout, although doesn't seem to care one way or the other what happens to him or anyone around him. The one opportunity for redemption falls flat, as there's no real change after the press conference. The romantic interest is forced and uncomfortable. You have to sit through two hours of tepid "build-up" before Iron Man actually battles a bad guy. Let's hope this is the last we see from this group.

One of my favorite all time movies. Something exciting seems to be happening every second of the movie.

Disappointing, I'd say. Very good actors in a somewhat predicatble all too "feel good" film. We rented it - I wouldn't buy it. I'd give it 2 and a half stars if I could.

"The Golden Compass" made a decent fantasy movie. Most of the characters in it were very good (I found Lee Scoresby and Iorek Byrnison to be especially likeable). It also had a very unique environment that departed from the normal medieval-ish confines of the fantasy genre. Unfortunately, the story in it seemed quite predictable and uninspiring. I never found it terribly exciting. It held my interest the entire time, but I don't see myself standing in line to wait for the sequels. "The Golden Compass" is a good work to have in your fantasy collection, but there are many better works of fantasy out there.

I saw this movie in theatres with my girlfriend 3 months ago and damn were we both disappointed! Forgive me but I see that I am not in the majority of the Hulk fans who actually loved the first movie directed by Ang Lee. And I'm not ashamed to admit it either! But this movie on the other hand was just GOD-AWFUL!!! I admit what with them picking Edward Norton to play Bruce Banner I had my doubts anyway! I mean come on the script and the acting were as big a travesty as was for Blade Trinity, the casting was completely better in concept, the action just couldn't measure up to the other movie, and there was just too many needless cameos. The ruination of the Batman mythos continues. Some examples: 1. The heroine never dies even though she didn't belong in the first place. 2. Batman doesn't endanger innocent bystanders as in the high speed chase with so much destruction. 3. The Joker never ever fooled Batman pyschologically. Batman is now just another vigilante. The movie is far too long, with too much violence. Cell phone networks are incapable of doing what Batman had it do. Whatever happened to his detective skills to figure things out or weren't writers smart enough to figure something out? There probably isn't enough of the mythos left to sustain the franchise without looking like an empty shell. And there were so many good Batman stories left to tell.
