This book will make your blood run cold. We should all take our heads out of the sand and read this one. The writing is well done, although the foreign names can get kind of tedious but that is no fault of the author.

I had this book recommended to me by several people and finally bought it and read it. It is not as good as its fans want you to believe; nor as bad as its detractors would make it out. First, the book is adequately written, but is not going to make anybody's top 100 list. It should be kept in mind that much of the credit or blame for the prose should probably be placed on the co-author Robinson, not Luttrel. My own criticism was that the book often seemed heavily redundant and repetitive. In most of those places, it was the repetition of the all liberals are the stupid, short-sighted, and ignorant henchmen of America's enemies theme which gave rise to that feeling. My Grandfather's Son is more than a memoir. It is one of the finest autobiographies ever penned. Moreover, how ironic it is that a man we associate with dispassionate objective reasoning could produce one of the most emotionally moving books imaginable. I was deeply moved by his narrative throughout. I once knew a man like the author's grandfather, Myers, and he too cast a shadow far greater than his physical size. Thomas's tale is infinitely believable as he failed to fully appreciate the one he called "Daddy" until after he passed. The lessons granddad taught are ones which should be internalized by children today and I'd recommend reading aloud to them passages from the early chapters as a means for inspiration. I devoured this book in about a day and a half. Ms Coulter has gathered a plethora of some of her best columns, interviews and books from the past decade and arranged them by subject under different chapters revealing how ridiculous, out-of-touch, or downright dangerous the Democratic Party has become. I especially love her quote about how it is almost always the best decision to do the exact opposite of what Jimmy Carter says. Great stuff. I can't wait to see what she has to say over the next two years, with Obama and a Congress that no longer has to pretend it wants to cater to the middle.
