I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading book 3 in the series. I am not a Nora Roberts fan but this trilogy is very good. I recommend it.

I always love these stories but found this one to be overly contrived and totally unbelievable. The dialogue was poorly done and the character of Rachel was so self-assured I am not sure why she needed the FBI's help. During the gunfight at Slipper Hollow one character actually "laughed" as he scooted along the floor to go get his gun...come on now you can do better than this. I did not finish the book.

2.5 stars, I think. I should preface this review with two qualifiers. First, I'm not a diehard Linda Howard fan nor hater. I have no expectations, good or bad, when I see a book by her. I look at the synopsis, if I'm interested I read. If I'm not, I don't. Second, I like flawed, less-than-perfect characters. Those who inhabit a world of grey rather than black or white and right or wrong. Some are considered anti-heroes. Others are sociopaths. Some are both. On occasion, even outright pure evil can can be appealing. So I had no problem with the protagonists being a killer and a, well, bimbo. I've read every book in this series and enjoyed all of them except this one. When a friend told me not to waste my time reading it, I thought she must have been having a bad day. Unfortunately, I had to slog my way through it, hoping it would get better. I was very, very disappointed in the book.

I know a lot of people gave Fearless Fourteen a bad review, but I thought it was just great! Another fun installment in the life of Stephanie Plum and her crazy friends. I love all of the Plum series and am currently in the process of reading the series again. I can't wait until June for #15...luckily I'll get my Evanovich fix in January with the arrival of Plum Spooky.

I have no idea what this book is about as my Kindle broke after using it 4 times and I am stuck paying for a book that I never read and no one that will awnser me when I try to contact them.

Smoke Screen is Ms. Brown's best work in years. She is my favorite author and she always will be. However, I was disappointed with Play Dirty and I wondered if Ms. Brown has jump the literary shark. She redeemed herself with Smoke Screen. True there was a lack of development with the characters but the story was well written, fast paced, and just plain entertaining. If you are looking for a fun, entertaining read, then Smoke Screen is for you!

I read the first 2 books in the Sign of Seven Trilogy, and I only bought the second book because I was hoping that it would be better than the first one, and thus get me hooked on the story but I was in for even more disappointment. I struggled to finish the first book and the second one was even more tedious. I'm all for books on the struggle between good and evil, and don't mind a little bit of 'spook factor' but these 2 books were just downright creepy and not in a good way. I couldn't even get to care for the characters. Unlike some reviewers I actually liked the Circle trilogy which was also a 'good vs. evil' trilogy, mainly because you could see the 'real' Nora Roberts in the writing-the witty conversation, the humor and the emotions, were all there.
