I admire Barbara Walters as an interviewer tremendously. I was interested in learning more about this woman who preceded my generation and broke the way for females in journalism. While the book is easy to read and is chockful of names, dates, and anecdotes, I found it too tedious to wade through and quit after 200 pages.

I think if I were from the same age group, the book might be more appealing. But as it was, I had little interest in many of the people and incidents she described.

Maybe I will try this again some day, but I doubt it. I'll just wait for the E! Behind the Scenes version. ;)

Just Who Will You Be?: Big Question. Little Book. Answer Within. (ROUGHCUT)

I gave this book as a gift to a middle-aged woman who was seeking a new self. She loved it! Easy reading, strong messages which she could relate to herself and to her teenage daughters. Offering hope and inspiration to those with questions about who they are, this book is worth the short time it takes to read and the longer time it takes to live. Once again, thanks to Maria Shriver.

When I bought the book last year(during my semester vacation) I actually didn't read it straight away. I just read the book when my new semester begin(I've got nothing to do since it's the beginning of the semester)it's just simply amazing, once I read I cannot put it down. It's a story about a world famous , I can say a journalist, who are very determined to get everythings that she did became a perfect one. Considering the environment, the way she grows, how she face the problems of her personal life and the way she solve the problem,I would say for those who wants to be a succes must follow. The way the story goes is very smooth.I plan to read another book by the same writer , I think the writer, author,is very professional when it comes to deal with autobiography. that's all. thank you.

I got Debra's book on CD. She talks about very basic stuff for a long time in a very boring way. In addition, she is not a good speaker. In fact she sounds like a very poor actress. I don't recommend that CD unless you are looking for a very basic stuff such as how to introduce yourself. If I could return it, I would do it.

This book certainly adds to my knowledge and understanding of colonial history. Cokie Roberts has added a useful dimension by concentrating on the women married to our early presidents and showing us, through the language of their letters that they were as courageous, politically astute, willing to sacrifice, and devoted to promoting the strength of our new nation as their husbands. I'm thinking of Dolley Madison and Louisa Adams (married to John Quincy) here.Portraits of other women are valuable, also, such as the young woman pioneer who literally walked over the mountains in the early 1800s to a new home in the Midwest.

A very pleasant book to read, filled with many good tips.

For instance, I plan to implement the "ice melter" by wearing an interesting or funny tie to get the conversation going.

Also good were the suggested ways to introduce yourself to folks that you may have met before (but you're not sure.) I liked also the suggested way to introduce people to others (include information on each party.)

A very good, practical read. Highly recommend!

For years Robert (a/k/a "RJ") Wagner has been regarded in Hollywood as the closest thing to royalty that we've got. His screen image is of a well-dressed, classy looking and talking gent who is always proper in looks and appearances.

This book, eagerly awaited by most, falls short of the mark. Although it sketches out his life (problems with his father/ difficulty in getting good acting roles) it seems to stop there. Yes, this is a book about Robert Wagner but as he constantly refers to Natalie Wood, you want to know about her. And let's face it, everyone is curious about what happened that night.

I'm not certain if it is to Mr. Wagner's credit, or against common sense, that he glosses over the night in question. True, there are many books out there which detail/ speculate about the night aboard ... Read More

How To Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less is an excellent guide to establishing fast rapport with people. In a common sense, but not always obvious approach, the author spells out in simple terms the body language and meeting acknowledgment that will engage new acquaintances. This is a fast read. It gives the reader the potential to leverage a first impression with positive power.
The author was recently interviewed on television. Expect a big demand for this book, of great help to salespeople, job interviewees, and anyone who needs to make a good impression, fast.
