According to Wikipedia:

The commission was criticized for significant alleged conflicts of interest on the part of commissioners and staff. Further, the commission's report has been the subject of much criticism by both the commissioners themselves and by others.

The commission members were appointed by George W. Bush as well as Congress, which led to the criticism that it was not a commission truly independent from the U.S. government whose actions it was supposed to review. The commission stated in its report that "[their] aim has not been to assign individual blame," a judgment which some critics believed would obscure the facts of the matter in a nod to consensus politics.

In addition, commissioners believed that key agencies of the U.S. government, ... Read More

I have to point out that I really enjoyed this book just for the sheer insider details on the inner workings of the very flawed 9/11 Commission investigation provided by someone that was there from day one, and that is Philip Shenon. What sealed it for me was how Shenon quietly and mysteriously leaves and open ended statement for all to ponder over at the very very end of his book (page 423). SEE BELOW.

What do I mean by that? Well, to me, Shenon contradicts all other 400 + pages of his book with that final selection of words. And to me, that is fascinating in the fact that he confesses to wanting to tell us more but he is afraid to.Why? Is he terrified of losing his D.C. insider status?

This book is for those who are serious about saving our country, and humankind.

We can tell who the serious are by what they have sacrificed to get the truth out. A good number of Americans have lost their jobs, and sacrificed friendships and public standing, to help their fellow citizens understand the urgent need for 9/11 truth. Dr. Griffin is one of those people. If you want to stop terrorism, the 9/11 Wars, torture, and the destruction of the US constitution among other tragedies, read this book and pass it on.

But if you are among the few who are serious about perpetuating the fraud of 9/11, then continue to ignore or condemn this book. It's all on the record, and we're all in it together.

I once asked a professor what he thought about DeLillo's book Falling Man, and his response was that, "It just isn't what America needs right now."

At the time, I remember being exasperated by such a political response from a professor of liberal arts, but after reading this book, I can see what he meant. The Looming Tower is what America needs right now.

What struck me first when I opened it was how quickly I was able to read through it. Non-fiction books are often daunting, boring, heavy-handed, or badly written, but this book is proof that those don't have to be flaws of the genre.

Take a look in the back of the book at the number of books Wright went through in research, and how many people he interviewed, and you'll get a feel for why this book feels so real. Every character is portrayed in ... Read More

Bob Woodward drew heavy criticism for his purported 'death bed' conversation with Bill Casey (which Casey's own wife denies.) Woodward deserves more criticsm for his patronizing "criticism" of the Bush administration's post-Iraq war failures.

Woodward has long been held in high regard by the conservative elitists as he has long traded inside access for less-than-scathing stories about the corruption and ineptitude of our various political leaders.

Very little within this book comes as "news," let alone as shocking as very little was reported that wasn't covered within the various 'evening news' programs. Furthermore, Woodward does little to corroborate the testimonies of the various interviewees (such as cite documents or statistical analysis.)

Truth be told, there is a much more sinister story to be ... Read More

David Ray Griffin objectively reveals the joke that was the 911 Commission.
Anyone with an open mind should study this courageous work to be "up to speed" on the unanswered questions surrounding this tragedy. The mainstream media has swallowed a lot of "stupid" pills peddling an "official conspiracy theory" with gaping holes of credibility.

Wow, has my opinion changed radically after reading this book! No, I still do not believe that the US government took part in orchestrating the 9/11 attacks. Not because I doubt that they would intentionally sacrifice American lives for profit (if you still don't believe that then I only have two words for you: Iraq Invasion), but simply because they "couldn't" do it.
However, I have no doubt that something is being covered up. In truth, I don't see why a "9/11 truth movement" even needed to be formed. From day one there was widespread belief that we were not being told the truth. This is hardly a radical or revolutionary thought.
Additionally, my opinion of Griffin has been heightened. Here, I see him doing what EVERY responsible American should be doing: asking questions about a tragic event that has affected so many lives.

: The One Percent Doctrine: Deep Inside America's Pursuit of Its Enemies Since 9/11
This is a disappointing book on many levels. I read the book during research for my Ph.D. dissertation but concluded it lacks the academic rigor to be a credible source. The author's documentation of sources consisted of a short paragraph in the back, stating his book was based on substantial interviews and documents, but fails to reveal them. Hence, readers cannot scrutinize his evidence or the basis for his conclusions. One might conclude that the book is based on one percent research.

I was surprised to learn from the book that the United States supplies Israel with tanks, tanks which kill women and children. Had the author bothered to check, he would have discovered that the Merkava tank is Israeli-manufactured. The emotive reference to inadvertent deaths of noncombatants is callow at best. The error may be minor, but if the author is wrong on ... Read More

: Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror
The author of this book was in the White House as head of its Counterterrorism Security Group (CSG) on 9/11. He served there as a career civil servant for 10 years on the National Security Agency staff beginning in 1992. He had previously served in intelligence positions in the State and Defense departments for 20 years before that. While Vice President Cheney and Condoleeza Rice were being ushered to a secure area Clarke was living the nightmare as one of the few people in charge of responding to the terror of 9/11.

Clarke unconsciously depicts how even the most advanced of nations can suddenly be required to operate and respond to crisis based only upon bits of information. His recounting of his experience at the beginning of the book vividly depicts the horror of the situation. The President of the United States, despite his objections, is on the ... Read More

On September 11, 2001 America was under attack by Al -Qaeda terrorists. These terrorists unleashed one of the most gruesome attacks ever on American soil. Just days after this catastrophic event the first conspiracy theories started to circulate. Now eight years later there are thousands of claims and hundreds of websites that support these claims that the US government is connected to the 9-11 attacks. Not one book until Debunking 9/11 Myths has pinpointed the major claims and then gives evidence that debunks the claims.
I have never before read a book like Debunking 9/11 Myths. The format of this book keeps the reader on the edge of their seat for the full 150 pages. Not once was there a dull spot in this book. This is because the book is split up into 24 different claims. Each claim is different from the rest so you never are given the same information twice. ... Read More
