Max Payne is a great in every sense of the word. The engaging twisting storyline, and combat, the music, the graphics (for '01). Everything. But the controls suck. Never have I played a game with such bad controls that it made me depressed. Do NOT buy this for PS2. Buy it for PC.

The game is just as good, if not better than the console versions. It offers much better color and saturation, higher resolutions, enhanced graphics, and better sound due to higher bit rates compared to the gamecube and PS2 versions. The voice acting has been improved as well. Sorry boys and gals alike, the mouse and keyboard dont always rule supreme in every game, face the facts. Devil May Cry 4 and GRID, two recently released excellent PC games that rely on gamepad use, Resident Evil 4 is no different, I'm glad I have an Xbox 360 wireless Gamepad For Windows and a Logitech Rumblepad 2 to enjoy these games with. If you can't afford a gamepad, don't get RE4 or get a job and buy one. In other words, quit complaining.

The visual design is beautiful, surreal, and pretty much what you'd expect from a Myst game, except you can move around it in real-time. Sound design and music are top-notch as well. My 5 year old daugther has played PBS and Nick jr games a lot. When she was 4 we got her this game. I agree with the other reviewers that it is a great special effects game and was suitably wowed by the set up. I feel the need to add that the biggest downside is that there is not a lot of guidance as to what to do. "Go to the Grove" is all that she hears from Snow White and she has to run around to different parts of the game to try and figure out where the grove is and then how to open the gate. There were some missions that even my husband (a good video game person) had trouble figuring out and there is not any help button to explain or hint what to do. what can i say that hasn't already be said, long install, too much dialogue, cartoony graphics, nice story and voice acting, i knew nothing about this game going in and was pleasently surprised at the get-go. Those of you that ahve given this game a "bad" review just has too high expecttations - kinda like i did with runaway 2 - what a disappointment that was. this game is different than many adventure games - more of a interactive cartoon story. so if you think you'd like that- get this game, if not avoid.
