Video Games : Baldur's Gate 2: Ultimate Collection (Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal)
After my original disks were lost, I ordered this again.

I cannot stress enough this fact; that if you're a fan of RPGs, this is one the best games you will ever play, even considering its age.

We'll see how things fair after the EA takeover, but as of now I would swear by any roleplaying game with the Bioware name on it. These guys make quality RPGs, period. Throne of Bhaal is no exception. Epic Story, and gobs of replay value.

Many ways they can improve. Graphics are great but the story line was a little lame. Felt lost and clueless quite often. I keep in mind that the first Nancy Drew game was quite lame as well. And look how GREAT they are now. There is hope for the Hardy Boys. I would suggest playing just so you can get use to the tools and game format.

Good Points: Going on dates makes having your sims fall in love more realistic, and hello, they can have cars now! That means you never have to call a taxi (or miss a carpool) ever again if you don't want to.
Bad points: Vampires. Even if you want your sims to be one, it is next to impossible to build up enough relationship with one to get bitten, because the vampires build relationship more slowly than the active sim. And if you stay out all night trying? Your sim is likely to die the next day of starvation because they go to bed as soon as they get home and don't get to the fridge on time. Trust me, I've seen it happen. (Of course, that sim's house was too small for his family anyway, so that was probably a good thing. Then again, since I have Sims Apartment Life as well, and ... Assassins Creed has alot of things going for it. The graphics are superb, and the freedom to climb and jump on just about everything makes the game revolutionary. Unfortunately AC doesn't live up to it's full potential.

The biggest flaw with AC are its assassinations. There is little to no strategy involved, its pretty much a straight forward hack and slash kinda game. Even the melee combat, while visually cool, is pretty easy once you learn to counter attack. In fact most of the game is not very challenging at all. I would have much preferred a little more dept to assassinations, AC should have taken some notes from the Hitman series for that.

While the graphics are great, they do come at a price. You need a decent machine to run the game at an acceptable frame rate. ... Read More

Very challenging game. Attention to detail is most important. Also it takes a lot of time to figure out the puzzles. It's a game that requires a lot of patience.

As far as hidden object games go, this one is pretty good; however, I was disappointed that The Adventure Company chose to use this format for its 4th release. Be advised that you can find this exact game on many websites to download, such as [...] or Yahoo, and that it has been out for several months on the internet so don't buy a second copy of it.

Another disadvantage of the hidden object format is that it's really easy to ignore the story (although the "solution" to DOTN is fairly well known) so there isn't much motivation to interview the characters or complete the bonus rounds.

If you haven't tried any other Agatha Christie games, I would recommend "Evil Under the Sun" instead, where you actually are trying to solve the mystery and act as Hercule Poirot himself.

18.Dungeon Siege II: Deluxe Edition from: 2K Games
October 23, 2006
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Video Games : Dungeon Siege II: Deluxe Edition
Dungeon Siege II Deluxe Edition, which includes the Broken World expansion, is a good dungeon crawl experience. If you are familiar with the first, the gameplay hasn't changed much. Point-and-click to move and to attack. The party system allows for different tactics and approaches to the many boss and mini-boss battles you'll encounter.
There are, however, some rough spots. Just like the first Dungeon Siege, once you have chosen a character progression path for your character, you're pretty much stuck with it until the end since the game itself discourages spreading yourself too thin.
Another gripe with the game is the rollercoaster difficulty level. You'll be coasting along quite well until you encounter a particular boss that has some particular trait that makes him nearly invulnerable. ... Read More

If you enjoyed MYST, you will not enjoy this installment . nothing like the other adventures at all . More like tomb raider . I tried it out for a day or so and ended up throwing it away . Really sad , maby they'll remake it in the style of the first four . i mean really how do you go from a solid series then change the whole format ?! really disapointing

Rhiannon : Curse of the Four Branches

This is a traditional point-and-click adventure game. It is set in Wales.
You play as Chris (take this as male or female to your taste), a character drafted in to hold the fort in the absence of the owners and their daughter Rhiannon. The latter was having nightmares and hearing voices so her parents decided to holiday elsewhere.
Naturally you explore and dig around to see if you can help.

The game installs from DVD and does not require the disk in the drive for play. I played without any bugs (worth remarking on these days). I've an older computer and it is below the min spec required (regarding processor speed).

The story holds interest throughout. Puzzles are inventory based with perhaps only a couple of exceptions. ... Read More
