101.The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth from: Electronic Arts

Video Games : The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth
"The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth" is a spectacular game based on the bestselling (and rightfully so) book (not a trilogy!) by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Pros:
Great Battles (the combat is awesome, running down Uruks as Rohirrim is astounding and Gondor's Tower Guard can make short work of almost anything, especially if they're backed up by fire arrow equipped archers)
Amazing Graphics (it's REALLY cool to see grass blowing in the wind and to see wolves running around amongst groves of trees: it's sweet!)
Pretty Much Faithful to the Films and Book (it follows the plotline almost exactly but, like any game, doesn't perfectly)
HUGE Variety of Units and Levels (there's so many units for each faction that you can get overwhelmed ... Read More

COMBAT: 10/10
FRUSTRATION LEVEL: 0

Dungeon Siege is a most entertaining game that has been lost in the dank, dusty halls of video game antiquity. No one I've talked to had heard of it, yet after reading ancient reviews of the game, I went out on a limb and purchased Legends of Aranna (definitely the way to go; Microsoft included Dungeon Siege with its expansion). I was delighted.

I received the game on a quiet weekend and ended up playing it for three days straight, every spare moment. I still didn't get a third of the way through the ORIGINAL game!

I cannot honestly say Dungeon Siege has a great story; ... Read More

I spend alot of time with this game. I come home from work tired and play this game and it helps me relax. I love the mini game letter rip. I am trying to turn all the letters to gold before time is up. I think the game may be for kids but this adult loves it. It is way cooler than the free on line game

I liked most of the activities and loved switching between the Hardy Boys and Nancy. The actual plot of the game was...lacking, I mean Nancy Drew going all the way to Hawaii to study BUGS? Thats a little much... The graphics were awesome and I loved going to the beach to gather shells and fish. One weird thing was when Nancy leaves the beach the sun is shining without a cloud in the sky but when she gets to the jungle the Hardy Boys call her up and say the bridge is out so she can't get back. How did it go out exactly? A freak rainstorm or what?
Collecting all the frass(bug droppings, yuck!) for Dr. Quigley was monotonous after the first few times. The ending was really weird and sort of dumb. Both mysteries were somehow connected but there were some red herrings thrown in and some things ... Read More

The Spyro series has headed downhill, but this game did try to pick it back up. Like Enter the Dragonfly, it's another one of those games you just pick up and play.

could not install 1.1-1.2 patch because computer could not find MOHPA on my computer. Customer support is "ZERO". MOHPA is lacking in weapon accuracy (enemy does not die when cross hairs are on target)It takes 40 to 50 tries before you can advance further into a mission. Too much extra "History Junk". Game menu not easy to use. Add a training mission in "Boot Camp"on how important the compass is and how to use it.There is no mention what the "Map", that comes with the game,is used for.
