Video Games : Dr. Seuss Green Eggs & Ham
This is my third CD-Rom purchase from The Learning Company, and I can't give them high enough ratings. The first time my 4 year-old son played the Green Eggs & Ham CD (after having devoured their Cat In The Hat game -- see my review of that CD-Rom for more details), I thought it was a let-down. Shows what I know. My son wanted to keep playing it, and after one or two times, he discovered in this game the same level of depth, creativity and imagination as we found in the Cat In The Hat CD. In fact, this CD even allows you to select more difficult levels of play for the matching game (at which my son, at the highest level, is much more adept at than I am -- apparently I need to stick to the first level!).

Like the Cat In The Hat story, this one allows your child to decide whether ... Read More

Originally purchased years ago when running windows 95. Best typing tutorial I've ever seen. Beware of limitations

This was one of my first games. Way back in second grade, i was in computer club, and every week when we went to the lab i clicked on DINOPARK, always. It's more creative than some: You get loans and buy land. I think that whoever doesn't like this game dioesn't know how to play. You shouldn't try to buy T. Rex first. Funny Story, one of my friends bought one but couldn't afford a fence, so his park was closed down because "Disembodied Heads are Innapropriatte." This game is great.

Easy to install software, but unfortunately too easy for the age range. My son is 5. He mastered this software completely including the bonus games in 2 days. He is now bored, not a good thing for a 5 year old. Buy the Stuart Little software instead, it's challenging and keeps the attention.

Hi, I'm StoryMaker, and I'm a big fan of educational software. They tend to be very fun and challenge my mind. ClueFinders Search & Solve Adventures for ages 9-12 is no exception. The main thing it teaches is logic and problem solving. Now, this isn't anything like Pajama Sam or Putt-Putt. It is more advanced and, in my opinion, more educational - and for older kids, probably more fun. It's full of fun, mind-challenging puzzles. In one of my favorites, you must free up a vending machine robot's circuits by placing shapes in the spaces that are clogged. Each row has a certain shape and each column a certain color, but you don't know what they are, so with a little luck ... Read More

My 7-year old daughter likes to play with this game, but she gets frustrated by some pages, and she doesn't like it as much as some other Arthur games (e.g. Arthur's Computer Adventure, Arthur's Birthday Party, Arthur's Reading Race), or the Pajama Sam games.

I ususally "preview" software by renting it from the library. if it's a hit, then I purchase it. My 3 year old is a HUGE Scooby fan, so we rented this game to test out.

The graphics and voices are true to the tv show, so this game really holds my son's attention. I like that there are 3 levels of difficulty. We stuck to the "spooky" (easy) level.

The main screen puts the gang in the middle of the ghost town. They can basically go in 3 different directions which bring them to different parts of the town. In each section, there are 2 different buildings the gang can enter, suspects to interview, and items to pick up.

Now, my son is probably on the young side for this game, but searching for clues did seem a little over his head. In some cases, you have to go ... Read More
