Video Games : Tomb Raider Anniversary
This is a perfect port of the PS2 version of the game. Everything comes to the PSP intact. There are some minor slowdown issues in places and the camera can often be a pain, but it is all worth it.

Don't confuse these critiques with criticisms. This is one of the best games I have played in years. While the graphics are not on par with some of the better FPS games this is still a solid game. The story line is a little lame but the game play is great once you master the tactics. I love the ship and fleet actions. You can play the same mission 100 times and you are never guaranteed the same outcome. Your actions and tactics are never the same therefore the outcome of the mission is never the same. The golden BB to your engine at the wrong time will make you crazy. The airplane and sub missions can be difficult as the same control often is used for more than one action. This is especially true during combat when you are trying to fire the guns and steer. The sub missions are made overly ... Read More

I believe my wife hated this game when she first bought it for me. She didn't hate it because it was bad. She hated it because it was so good. This game was hypnotizing me. Other games were OK. I'd play for awhile, get bored and do something else.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was different. I'd start playing this thing and get sucked into it and before I knew it four or five hours went by. I wouldn't see or hear anything else going on around me. Soul Reaver created for me the idea of what a totally immersive video game experience was.

Soul Reaver takes place on the planet of Nosgoth. It is a ... Read More

I was originally introduced to Aargon on my palm. This seemed like an alternative for the DS for my kids. And it is a reasonable facsimile. They enjoy it.

Video Games : Tomb Raider Legend
Every so often I'm guilty of hunting down older (yes, cheaper)games. I guess that all I'm expecting is something remotely playable. Admittedly, I had apprehensions when I bought Tomb Raider: Legends. I guess because there really hasn't been a good Tomb Raider game for a while.

This game reminds me that we play video games because they're fun. This one is very, simplisticly fun. I almost hate to use the words simple or simplistic, because I don't want it to be confused with boring, because it is not. So many games now place so much emphasis on stunning visual effects, complex combat systems and multiplayer modes that they forget to be fun.

Aided by backdrops like the Himalayas in Nepal and the highrises of Japan, the graphics are actually quite impressive without being pretentious. ... Read More

Video Games : Just Cause
Just Cause is a GTA-ish type game that is not as good as GTA. I found the game to be a little monotonous and frequently glitchy. There are some cool features in the game such as parachuting and flying a good variety of different planes, and the explorable area in this game is HUGE. To be honest though, I found myself playing it through just to finish it, even though I wasn't always having fun while doing it. If you can get it for under 15 dollars you may be satisfied with your purchase.

I've spent many years looking for a game like this and I've finally found it! One that doesn't involving going to distant, imaginary places killing make-believe aliens or going into the jungles frenetically shooting at random soldiers. There are plenty of games like those, but not many like this.

Finally a game that puts you in a more familiar setting where you could act out your wildest fantasies! You could be in a someone's mansion in the middle of a party, in a quiet suburban neighborhood with residents doing their usual activities or on a crowded downtown street filled with revelers. While your objectives are usually to assassinate just one or two people, practically anyone is fair game. From innocent lobby clerks to friendly out-of-town tourists, no one is off limits, which adds to the realism of ... Read More

kind of fun but very similar to other games ,like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, except with smaller mission teams(with less controller change options) and NO team member choice options, which is the biggest game flaw. plus the voice acting, while well done, is flawed
