Video Games : Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This at Home
Backyard Wrestling is a nice departure from the typical wrestling games that you see with the WWE releases, even though those are great in their own way as well. The only thing that I was disappointed in was how short the game is, especially compared to some of the others out there. The game itself is fun, but a little difficult until you get your sea legs, then it is just fun. The soundtrack is also really cool, much like the soundtracks you would see on a Tony Hawk game. But, let me be honest, the only real reason I bought the game is because I'm a Juggalo and ICP are playable characters. That is another cool aspect if you are an ICP fan, they have tracks of ICP in the soundtrack as well.

I'd recommend this game to fans of extreme wrestling and ICP. Like I said, the game is fun, ... Read More

I couldn't even begin to go into all the things that make this a horrible game. It could have been something great, but they royally screwed this up. The user interface is horrible; it's like playing 3 different games at once but they don't mesh well at all. Boring, difficult, horrible user interface. Do not waste your money.

(And to the above self-righteous reviewer, my attention span is much longer than 5 minutes. I spent a lot of time playing this game and trying to enjoy it; but finally I was forced to accept that it's a horrible game. Maybe someday someone will take this great concept and make a great game out of it. This is not that game.)

This game failed in so many ways it has become a legend!
Where should one start? The (mid 90's) gaming-industry prima-donna John Romero with his touch of midas and fleet of Ferraris spearheading the development; the announcement of the greatest game-ever-experienced; the impossible schedule to be in stores before Christmas of 1997 with less than 7 months in production; the in-your-face advertisements that over-hyped this game like no other..
Then came the delays...and the postponements...and Christmas of 2000 - and then QUAKE III came along and everything felt so yesterday...

To be fair, this is NOT as bad a game as its reputation.
True, I hated the sidekicks so much (total lack of ANY intelligence - with the exception of finding ways to getting themselves killed and ending the ... Read More

Bullet time style game play, amusing for small periods of game play, but loses it's appeal after a few hours. It gets repetitive and uninventive after you jump-killed the same looking guys over and over. It is fun, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying it's not a game that you can play for long periods of times without getting bored. Just cause is another game like this one that is fun for short periods of time, but the side quests and missions begin to lose their appeal as they are very uninspired.

This game is highly recommended for anyone. This game undoubtedly, unquestionably is one of the best games ever in all categories and genres. I would say, and anyone else smart enough would say "get this game!" You can't possibly go wrong. The versatility and intrigue is unbeaten even still today after all this time. This game is a screaming blast, A+, 10 out of 10, grade A, top quality, pro choice. It just leaves you reeling for more....what new technology can you discover and research and then apply and build new weapons, defenses, etc.? The only thing that's disappointing is that they didn't do a sequel, the legacy died right there. I don't know, maybe because they didn't think they could improve upon such a masterpiece. Don't let this review spoil it and build too much of an expectation. It is definitely ... Read More

I'm going to put this sweet and short, this game sucks!!!!. a just wait a complete month to play this game following the reviews of game magazines, and the screenshot that the web page of EIDOS show us, and finally i had the chance to play this in my own xbox console and just worst 30 minutes of gameplay and never seen before from now. first all the characters are weak and thin, the firepower of the gun sound bland, the physics of all the vehicles are unrealistic, this men can walk across the edge of a mountain and never fall, like the amazing spiderman or the amazing glue man. the missions are boring and foolish, etc, etc, etc. I play Scarface and spyhunter nowhere to run and this game are far beyond better that this steamy guano pile(steamy beause this early launching).
